My Office Tour with Havenly

ah I can’t tell you how nice it is to finally be sharing my office tour with you all! As anyone who has taken on a big design project knows, the process can be time consuming. From building inspiration, to finalizing products, buying, and waiting for them to arrive, to hanging art, mirrors, etc. … it’s a process! We moved into our house in February 2014 and it’s been two years of me wanting to do something with this space but not being able to find the time. I decided to collaborate with Havenly because they offer such an accessible and affordable approach to interior design. Read on to hear more about my process of working with them and of course see the photos!

First, let’s start with the BEFORE PHOTOS of this room.

Bad is an understatement, right? I pretty much threw things wherever and it was a mess. all. the. time. {I’ll even admit I cleaned this room up a bit before I took photos! shh!} I never wanted to work in here, as you can imagine, so I would sprawl my stuff out on the dining room table. I felt bad because I was slowly putting my junk all over the house. Poor Matthew! Every night before we ate dinner I’d have to move my laptop and papers to another table just so we could have a place to eat.

You can see why Matthew was all for me doing this room design. Part of the idea, too, is that this space will also be a guest room for when people come to stay with us, like our moms or my best friend. All we need is a daybed to go under the window, which I’m hoping to find soon! There is room for blankets and pillows in the storage ottoman and guests will be able to keep their things in a dresser drawer, or on the hanging rack. It will be a very girly getaway for our friends!

Now for the AFTER PHOTOS:

I’ve been obsessed with round mirrors so I was so excited to find this one from Wayfair to hang above my late grandmother’s dresser.

I’ve been obsessed with this moody floral print by Kari Herer so I was incredibly excited to find a place for it in this room! I love how it looks next to the black and white abstract print.

So much better right? I started the process of pinning inspiration for the room, and sharing certain products that I knew I wanted to include {the floral artwork and the pink rug!}. From there, my designer from Havenly, Ann Flanagan, came up with the most incredible design and we only went through a few revisions to perfect it. I’m so incredibly happy with what Ann came up with. The room is feminine and colorful, making me so happy to work in here! Also, I can’t even tell you what a difference a rug makes in a room. The room looked good as we were putting it together, but as soon as we rolled out the pink rug, it was like music started to play!

Here were the two CONCEPT BOARDS I was given:

Turned out pretty close right?

I would highly recommend Havenly and their services because #1 you’re getting a professional’s help. Interior design is soo hard…a lot harder than choosing an outfit. There are so many elements to think of from wall color, rugs, furniture, lighting, art, curtains, etc. Once you decide on your vision for all that {if you ever do!}, you have to a go and find each piece and make sure they all work together. {That was the hardest part for me!} Enter Havenly! They offer a $79 room refresh that includes two custom concept boards, personalized product suggestions and their complementary buying service which makes it so so easy! This is a great way to spruce up a room with some new elements, like pillows and artwork. If you’re like me, though, and needing someone to go the whole mile for you, you can get the complete design experience for only $199/room. That includes all the same as the refresh, with the addition of revisions from your designer, furniture placement visualization and $50 towards your furniture. Such a good deal right? They’re also offering a special discount to M Loves M readers. Just use code MLOVES25 for 25% off through August 1, 2016.

It’s been so wonderful to see the process of this room go from inspiration to reality! This room is quickly becoming my favorite in our house and with good reason since I spend so much time in here. I was also so honored that Glitter Guide decided to feature this room on their site earlier in the week. You’ll have to check it out if you have time and read the interview they did on me. It’s been amazing seeing how Glitter Guide has grown over the past several years {I still remember their launch day like it was yesterday!}, and I’m so grateful to be able to work with them!

There you have it for my office tour! I hope you all liked it. I linked all the room details below if you’re interested in recreating the look yourself.
