5 Ways to Make Your Workday a Little Better - M Loves M

Happy Friday everyone! We made it to the weekend! While my days and weeks are a little different these days with a newborn baby, I totally know how it feels when you’re just so ready for the workday and week to end. Today I’m sharing 5 Ways to Make Your Workday a Little Better, so you don’t have to dread the Monday through Friday grind quite as much. These are all tips that really helped me when I was working full-time in an office. Hopefully they’ll help you as well!

5 Ways to Make Your Workday a Little Better

  1. Plan Your Outfit the Night Before

One great way to ensure some extra confidence is making sure you feel put together during the workday. Sure, we all have days where we wake up, quickly brush our teeth and hair, and then throw on the first outfit we see. It’s a lot more beneficial, though, to plan your outfit the night before. It takes less than 5 minutes to pick an outfit you really love and it helps your mornings go a little more smoothly. You know you’ll be wearing something that you feel great in and in turn that will help improve your day.

  1. Have Something to Look Forward to in the Mornings

I don’t know about you but I always wake up thinking about breakfast. I love making oatmeal, or even a bowl of yogurt with fresh fruit. And of course there’s always coffee! Make sure you have time to eat a nice breakfast. Breakfast helps your day start in an enjoyable way!

  1. Listen to Audible on Your Commute

I’m a huge fan of listening to podcasts and audiobooks in the car. It’s so much more enjoyable to start your day listening to a book, rather than getting bummed out with world news. There’s another time for that, but not first thing in the morning. I’ve talked before about Audible and how much I love it. I have such little time to read anymore so being able to listen to a book while I’m driving is so nice. It helps me feel like I’m making the best use of time stuck in traffic. You can sign-up for a 1-month free trial if you’re interested! I promise you’ll love it!

  1. Get Some Fresh Air in the Afternoons

Taking a walk during the afternoons was one of my favorite things to do during the workday. I always looked forward to it because I was able to get out of the office, get some fresh air, and also continue listening to my Audible book. I remember when I was listening to The Girl on the Train and I couldn’t wait to continue on. That book was soo good!

  1. Plan Things to Look Forward To

Having things to look forward to help the day go by too! I would keep a list at my desk and then talk about it with Matthew when I got home. Right now some of the things I’m looking forward to are a trip to see our family in the Bay Area, planning my best friend’s Bachelorette, and taking a cooking class.
