Matthew and I had such a great time in Portland. We arrived Monday afternoon and left Wednesday afternoon so the trip was short but sweet. We had the best time exploring downtown and trying all these incredible restaurants. We basically pigged out the entire time, which you’ll see from the photos! I’m looking forward to going back again, renting a car, and driving all around. I know there is tons to explore in Orgeon!
aebleskivers with homemade lemon curd, lingonberry jam and syrup
baked egg scramble with potato pancake and walnut toast
pan fried gnocchi with corn and marjoram
deep fried zucchini blossoms with taleggio and truffle honey
Khao Phat Buu- crab fried rice
Khanom Jiin Sao Naam- vermicelli with pineapple, ginger, mango in a sweet & sour coconut cream sauce

I told you we ate a lot! Here are some of the places we tried:

Broder– amazing Swedish brunch! Loved the coffee with the warm milk and the eggs and ebelskievers were delicious!
Pok Pok– favorite restaurant we tried. Has the best reviews that definitely lived up to the hype.
Jamison– great place for an afternoon lunch on the patio!
Henry’s 12th Street Tavern– good happy hour! Sit on outdoor patio and enjoy one of their many beers.
Departure– rooftop of The Nines hotel. Great view but food was just ok. Overpriced in my opinion, but it was one of our only options on the first night since most places were closed for Labor Day.
Nostrana– delicious Italian wood fired pizza. Perfect for a date night!
Voodoo Donuts– so weird. so Portland! You just have to try it!
Saint Cupcake Galore– light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet! Loved the Carrot Cake cupcake but the Big Top is a cutie!
Stumptown Coffee– soo good! Their cold brew tasted like juice, fruity and sweet. You didn’t even need sugar!

Have any of you been to Portland? Do you have any favorite places we should check out next time?
