Sometimes jackets can be too bulky and to be honest, in Southern California, they’re not always completely necessary. In comes the sleeveless jacket. It’s the ideal layering piece and makes a regular outfit totally step out it’s game. I saw this SLEEVELESS TARTAN TRENCH COAT on Chicwish and knew it would be a great piece for fall. Chicwish has so many great sweaters and jackets right now for fall! I wore the jacket here opened up as a vest, proving just how versatile it can be. I love wearing burgundy this time of year and thought this chunky oversized sweater would look great underneath the black and white plaid.

I wore this outfit for Matthew’s Grandpa’s 85th birthday party over the weekend. It was a plaid party so everyone came dressed in some sort of plaid piece. It was so fun to see everyone get into the spirit. And everyone is a big group! Matthew’s Grandpa has 2 daughters, 1 son, 5 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 6 great granddaughters, and 7 great grandsons. Isn’t that so incredible?! What an amazing legacy he’s building! {and that doesn’t even count the spouses, girlfriends, and babies on the way!} It was such a special night celebrating him. None of my grandparents are living so I love that I have two from Matthew’s side still.

I hope you all had a great weekend!!
