One of the things I love about living in LA is being surrounded by so many creative people. Going to events weekly I meet the most interesting people who have started their own businesses, have created product lines, partnered with mega brands, and people who are doing things no one else is. Most of the ones I meet are fellow women so there’s a lot of girl power energy in the air. One of those #girlbosses that I’ve met and loved is Jaimi Brooks from Fiore Beauty. Jaimi started this luxury beauty agency which provides quality services to you whether you’re at home, in a hotel, on set. It’s perfect for an event {wedding party!}, or just for fun!

Jaimi and I were talking about collaborating on some different hairstyles and had a fun beauty day putting them together. For the first one, we’re doing a Messy Fishtail Braid which is perfect for this late-summer heat wave. You need your hair off the back of your neck! Also, this look would be perfect for a beach day!

MESSY FISHTAIL BRAID
STEP 1//
Apply a dry shampoo or hair texturizer throughout hair to set the braid up for a matted, good-messy look. We love Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray or Redken Powder Grip 03
STEP 2//
Place hair into a secure ponytail at the center of the back of your head. Redken Braid Aid is a great product to put throughout the pony to help add grip to the braid and define it.
STEP 3//
Separate the hair into two main sections, left and right.
STEP 4//
Take a small piece from the outside of the right section and cross it over to combine with the left section. Then take a small piece fro, the outside of the left section and cross it over to combine with the right section. Continue until the braid is complete.
STEP 5//
Secure bottom braid with a hairband.
STEP 6//
Fan out or pull on each side of braid all the way down for fullness.
I hope you have fun with this one!
