Portugal Travel Diary- Part 2 (Azores)

M Loves M Portugal Travel Diary- Azores

One of the places Matthew and I really wanted to visit in Portugal was actually not even on the mainland! We were dying to visit the Azores, volcanic islands in the mid-Atlantic between the US and Portugal. My grandma’s family is from the islands so it was special to make a weekend trip over there. We went to São Miguel, which is also known as the green island. It’s the largest and most popular island of the Azores and there’s so much to explore from the beaches to the gorgeous Jurassic Park-style rainforests. There are a couple of small cities, but much of the island is surrounded by beautiful farmland and countryside. Here’s my Portugal Travel Diary for São Miguel in the Azores.

Lisbon Portugal Travel Guide M Loves M @marmar

It’s hard to believe we’ve been back in California for two weeks. Our trip to Portugal was so incredible and I’m so happy we were able to start and end our trip in the capitol city of Lisbon. As some of you know, I’m 50% Portuguese because of my Dad and his family. All my life I’ve dreamed of going to Portugal to connect with my heritage and see the places my family lived way back when.  Matthew and I had been talking about making a trip on and off for years and then we just decided to do it. It was a real seize the day sort of situation. I’m so glad we did because this was by far the best experience of my life. I have to say it even tops dog sledding in Juneau, as cool as that was!

Read on to see lots of pictures from our Lisbon Portugal Travel Diary, as well as recommendations for things to do and places to eat.

My All-Time Favorite Red Wines

February 12, 2020

These are my favorite red wines! - M Loves M @marmar

I have to admit, I love wine. When I was pregnant, I picked up this book about wine because I thought I would enjoy learning about it since I couldn’t drink it at the time. But of course that made it harder lol! While my research hasn’t made me a wine expert yet, I still have some strong opinions about it. I thought I would start sharing my favorite wines with you {I love getting recommendations for new bottles to try!} and first up are my all-time favorite red wines!
