I have to give major credit to my friend Val for this outfit! She came over to shoot this post about the first few weeks with Augustine, and was wearing these black slip on sneakers with distressed jeans. The combo looked so cute together and it reminded me of a pair of slip-ons I had in college that I wore to the bitter end {we’re talking peeled rubber and holes!}. Pretty much as soon as she left, I looked for a pair online. I found these gray slip-on sneakers and thought they were perfect for a casual sneaker style outfit. Black, although extremely versatile, doesn’t always work with the items in my wardrobe. I discovered this after buying a rather expensive black bag that I rarely wear. Lighter neutrals, like beige, white, and gray, just fit in a little bit better around here!

As much as I love heels I’m looking forward to wearing more casual sneaker style outfits as a mom. They’re a lot more comfortable and easier to pair with jeans and a tee. Also, how cute will it be when I can get Augustine a pair of matching sneakers? Heck, Matthew will need matching ones too!
