Happy Thanksgiving!

I wanted to take a moment while my mushroom stuffing is cooking and my herb rolls are rising, to reflect on some of the things I’m grateful for. It can be so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, especially during this time of year. There’s so much go go go that it can feel a little overwhelming at times. A new goal I’ve set for myself is to be more present and enjoy the moments while they’re happening.  Too often events and moments come and go, and I’m not able to really stop and take it all in. I feel this way especially with Augustine, as the past 14 months have gone by all too quickly. Today I’m sharing a quick post with 8 things I’m grateful for.

What I’m Thankful For

  1. Family – There is no better gift than family. Matthew and I are so so lucky to have our sweet baby Augustine. He is the most special little boy and every day I’m just amazed at how much he’s growing and learning. He’s becoming his own little person and I want to do the best that I can to raise him to be a smart, happy and kind boy. I’m incredibly grateful to have Matthew as my partner. He’s the best dad and husband and Augustine and I are so so lucky! While I love this little family right here, I’m also thankful for my parents, brother, and all of Matthew’s family. I’m grateful for the healthy and loving relationships we have together, and our commitment to quality time. We might not see each other as often as we like, but we value the times we do spend together.
  2. God – How grateful I am to know Him, love Him and allow Him into my life. I’m constantly reminded of His presence in everything I do and for that I am grateful. This year I feel like I haven’t devoted as much time to God and my faith as I would like, but it’s something I’m working on.
  3. Health – This has been a year where my health hasn’t been prioritized. I’ve sacrificed my sleep way more often than I should and I know I’ve paid some consequences for that. I am grateful for this healthy body though and I want to do more to treat it as best as I can. We’ve had some health issues in my family which has made me recognize, even more, the importance of taking care of ourselves. We’re only given one body in this life and we need to treat it right.
  4. Work – I’m blessed to have a job that I love, a job that started as a hobby and now has become a mini business. My mom responsibilities are number 1, but I still feel a passion and excitement every time I sit down at my computer. Even after 8 years, I still love blogging. There’s so much more to writing a blog than some people think {it takes a lot of time and I wear a lot of different hats}, and while it can be stressful, I still really and truly enjoy it!
  5. Home- With our recent move, I can’t help but reflect on how grateful I am to have this new space to call our own. It’s always hard leaving memories behind but it’s so important to embrace the new ones ahead. I finally feel a little more settled in our home and I get so excited thinking about all the memories we’ll make with Augustine here.
  6. Knowledge- This year has been one where I’ve poured more energy into learning about things relating to parenthood, business, faith, and self. I’ve listened to podcasts, read books, watched documentaries, and chatted with others on various subjects. I feel like I have learned so many things that have added some value and benefit to my life. I want to always be learning and discovering.
  7. The Mom Community- Being a new mom is scary and overwhelming. Every day new situations arise where I wonder if I’m doing the right thing. Having my Mommy & Me group was such a benefit for me this year. I’ve loved connecting with those mamas and share stories and advice. It’s been so helpful since we all have babies the same age. I’m also so appreciative of the other moms in my life who offered support and encouragement, whether they were lending an ear or sharing personal experiences with me. The mom community is such a beautiful one and I feel lucky to have such support in this area of my life.
  8. You! My Readers – I appreciate you all so much! Thank you for coming here, reading my posts, following along, emailing me, messaging me, and supporting me in so much of what I do. I feel like I have the most amazing group of friends in each one of you. Thank you for trusting and believing in me and making this job so worthwhile. The connections I have with you have kept me inspired and motivated on a daily basis. I love love love hearing from you always so know I’m just an email away!

I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families and friends! And eat lots of yummy food ok? That’s a must!

Happy Thanksgiving!
