You know you’re excited about spring when you can’t wait to break out the floral and lace dresses! And then you do on a day that it ends up raining and is so incredibly cold. Of course! I was determined to wear this gorgeous lace halter dress, though, and decided to add the one coat I bought this winter. It’s really been the only one I’ve needed. {It’s my go to with sweaters and jeans}. At first I wasn’t sure if this was too matchy matchy but I think doing monochromatic with lavender works. A good trick to monochromatic looks is to choose different textures so it looks a little different. I remember back in the day I did a lot of monochromatic posts. I almost thought I’d make it through the whole rainbow! {here’s a blast from the past!}

Lavender Coat
Truth be told, I rarely have that many excuses to wear coats in the wintertime. We’re lucky that our weather in Los Angeles is pretty mild, but with the last few weeks of rain and chilly {for us} 50 degree temps, I desperately needed to layer up. I saw this lavender coat and thought it would be perfect for our late winter and early spring days. The material is nice and heavy and it looks way more expensive than it is! I paired the coat with this striped turtleneck top that I wear way too much, my favorite jeans, and these over-the-knee boots. Oh, and since one of my favorite ways to layer is with a scarf, I added in this chunky fringe infinity scarf!
