Blood oranges are one of my favorite fruits to enjoy in the springtime. We got a bunch at the farmers market the other week and used the juice for drinks, a marinade for fish, and even a smoothie! I decided to make this strawberry blood orange limeade one afternoon and it was so refreshing with the sparking water and mint. I really do love drinks with mint it it. It makes me think of warm days and dinners outside. I’m excited to make this recipe more and play around with different blood orange drink combos!
Strawberry Blood Orange Limeade makes 1 drink
INGREDIENTS
2 strawberries
2 mint leaves
2 oz blood orange juice
1/2 lime
1 tsp agave syrup (optional)
ice
seltzer water
1 slice of blood orange or mint leaves for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Muddle strawberries and mint leaves until liquefied. Add blood orange juice, lime juice, and agave syrup. Shake to combine. Add to glass with ice and top with seltzer water.* Add a slice or wedge of blood orange for garnish.
*While this drink is non-alcoholic you could add 1.5 ounces of some rum, vodka, or gin. Just add a clear liquor and top with the seltzer water.
