Last week Matthew and I had a mid-week date and I thought I’d wear something a little different from the usual. We were going downtown so a scheme of black, white and gray was perfect. I paired this striped midi skirt from Chicwish with a black tube top {hello early 00s!} and some heeled sandals. I wanted to keep my accessories pretty simple so that the skirt could shine. I always love looking for midi skirts and Chicwish has such a great selection. This black and white striped skirt goes with most everything and the bow is a fun, girly detail. I pulled my hair back into a slick pony and did some smoky eyes and a nude lip {unheard of right?!}. This might be my new favorite date look!

This weekend was fun but kinda busy. We celebrated Matthew’s birthday with a waffle breakfast on Saturday morning, an oyster and wine happy hour turned into dinner on Saturday night, pie baking on Sunday morning and dinner with my family on Sunday night. You can tell we’re very food focused over here, huh? We also did some cleaning and organizing, went to Home Depot, and got a new bed for Ginger from Target. She’s so happy it’s almost like it’s her birthday! Looking forward to celebrating Matthew some more this week. I hope you all had a great weekend too!
