Putting a look together for a party or event can be a little stressful. You should see me before one of my blogger cocktail parties or dinners. There are clothes thrown all over my room, jewelry jumbled in a pile on my bed, my hair semi-wet from the shower..it’s kind of a mess. I get anxious about what to wear, not sure if what I had planned is too casual or too dressy. {Isn’t that always such a struggle?} I just want to make the right impression and being comfortable is also super important. One tip I have when planning an outfit for an event is to wear something that stands out. Most people wear black and keep it basic, but a print or a punchy color is a great way to turn heads. This colorful and printed dress from Nordstrom is so pretty and would look great if you had to go straight from work to an event. It dresses up nicely with nude sandals {in a perfectly wearable height!}, a glitzy necklace and a bold but complimentary clutch. Since the dress is in a shift silhouette it means you’ll be super comfortable and totally won’t feel bad eating lots of appetizers! I’m definitely that girl that hoovers over the cheese and crackers. Oops!
dress Nordstrom, shoes Aldo {in black}, clutch Heather Belle {similar 1 and 2}, sunglasses Karen Walker Number One, necklace Ily Couture
Bonus points go to the dress too because I can definitely see it styled more casually over the weekend with a pair of flats or a jean jacket!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on cocktail party attire! With Fashion Week coming up in no time at all, I’m already feeling the butterflies coming. Would love to hear your favorite color combos or outfit recommendations!
