Adjusting to life after Hawaii is so hard! I miss that island of Maui so much. Matthew and I always have such a special time when we go and this time was no exception. We went with my parents which made it more fun too! We rented a house in the hills of Kihea that overlooked the water. Every morning we’d drink our coffee outside, eat breakfast of local eggs from a stand on our street, and fresh fruits from our backyard. Matthew kept saying, “The island will provide,” which was true on many occasions, including when we found a coconut that had just fallen from the tree. This was after repeated efforts by my Dad and Matthew to knock one down. Eventually we got one! I have way too many photos from our trip so I decided to break it down into a few posts to make it a little more manageable. This first post includes photos from the south side of the island, Wailea, Kihea and the local beaches around there. We revisited some favorite spots, like Eskimo Candy {best poke!} and Coconuts Fish Cafe {the fish tacos are a must although I snapped a photo of the fish sando which was delicious too!}. If you get a chance to visit Maui I would highly recommend it!
this black lace coverup from Zinke was perfect for the black sand (and rock) beach!
Our first dinner at Morimoto! These were awabi takoyaki (abalone puffs) with an herb butter. So good!
