It’s only been a few hours since I landed home from Austin, and I’m already missing that city. I’ve been to Austin, Texas once before on a work trip, but I’ve always wanted to go to SXSW {read: South By Southwest, but, if you’re a local or regular festival goer, you better call it South By}. One thing I really like about SXSW is that you have the opportunity to hear so much music, and not just from bands you’re familiar with. When I was in high school and college I used to love discovering new music. I’d admit that Myspace had something to do with that haha! But, nevertheless, it was a big part of my life, and sadly, it’s been an afterthought in recent years. So, going to Austin, walking around 6th Street {the Dirty Sixth if you’re a local}, and hopping in an out of restaurants and bars to hear bands play was so fun. The city was full of music, from sunrise to sunset. Even our hotel featured some up and coming artists. This trip wouldn’t have been possible without Nine West and Nylon Mag so I’m so grateful to them for including me. Here’s my FESTIVAL DIARY from SXSW!
The prettiest chocolates were waiting for me at the hotel by Maggie Louise Confections. They were almost too pretty to eat..almost!
I wore by Cynthia Vincent Dress with my Nine West espadrille flats for walking around the city. I’d highly recommend wearing flats for the day so your feet don’t get sore!
Hillside Pharmacy was such a cute breakfast spot! It has a quaint and retro interior and the food was amazing. I got the Fried Egg Sandwich with Avocado and Fried Green Tomatoes. I would totally recommend it!! Also, any place that serves Stumptown Coffee is A+ in my book!
Speaking of coffee…a trip to Jo’s is a must! Their Iced Turbo is such a great drink on a hot Austin day. It’s sweet and creamy with coffee, espresso, hazelnut, chocolate and cream!

I loved stopping by the Kendra Scott store and studio! It was so fun to see what they’re working on for the upcoming seasons!
After our Kendra Scott tour, we went to Perla’s Seafood and Oyster Bar. The interior was so pretty and nautical!
This beet salad with warm Cambazola cheese was delicious! I just wish it came doubled!
Elizabeth Street Cafe has style and such good food! I love their pink and turquoise door!
Spring Rolls and Bahn Mi sandwiches at Elizabeth’s. They have some good veggie options too!
Couldn’t resist making a stop at Gourdough’s for a donut! We went with the Miss Shortcake {cream cheese icing and freshly cut strawberries!}
Everyone said that Uchi has the best sushi in Austin so I had to check it out! That Machi Cure tower with smoked yellowtail, yucca crisp, marcona almonds and asian pear was incredible! So unique!
I wore by Nine West cut-out booties at nighttime! I love the gray color with the black outfit!
Austin, I miss you already and I can’t wait to go back! Thank you Nine West for including me on this super fun trip!! I felt like I ate my way through the city while hearing the best music. Until next time, Texas!
