It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these and I feel like it’s a good way to check in!
Lately, I have been..
watchingThe Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Have you seen it? It’s a Netflix Original Series, produced by Tina Fey. It definitely feels a little bit like 30 Rock, which I loved. Kimmy Schmidt is an “Indiana Mole Woman,” a prisoner for 15 years in an underground bunker, led by a doomsday cult leader. Sounds heavy, right? It’s not, I promise! The show starts with Kimmy being freed and adjusting to life in New York City. Oher characters include Jacquline Voorhees {played by Jane Krakowski- Jenna Maroney on 30 Rock}, a New York socialite that hires Kimmie as her son’s nanny, and Titus Andromedon, Kimmy’s very hilarious roommate, who wants to be a Broadway performer, but is currently working as an action figure in Times Square. Watch the trailer and then start the show!
readingStation Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. This is another book my Dad recommended. My Dad is a prolific reader and is always inspiring me and my inner bookworm. He loved this book so much that he read it twice. That says something! The book is about a traveling theater group living in the scary day’s of civilization’s collapse. So far I’m really enjoying it!
eating Black Bean and Cheese Taquitos from Trader Joes. I’m so obsessed with these! Matthew makes fun of me by saying my perfect night consists of taquitos, red wine, and a guilty pleasure show like Scandal. He’s totally right..
looking for bedroom lighting. How have we gone over a year with dangling wires above our head? There isn’t even a light bulb attached! I need to work on this pronto! I’m currently looking at this capiz petal flushmount light or a drum light that’s a little more simple. Which one do you like more?
thinking about all the things I want from the Shopbop Friends & Family Sale! If you haven’t shopped it already, you must!! Here are some of my favorites! Use code SPRING25 for 25% off almost everything {there are a few brand exclusions}.
planning a Bay Area getaway next month! Matthew and I try to go up north a few times a year- it’s such an easy plane flight. Every time we visit the Bay Area I always feel like we’re torn between San Francisco {where many of our friends currently live}, Berkeley {where I went to college}, or the South Bay {where Matthew and I dated and we spent a lot of time}. After several SF-based trips, I think it’s only right we go across the bridge to Berkeley this time. I’m excited to spend a few days in my college town!
usingCalendly! If you’re a busy gal {or guy} and need help scheduling appointments I would totally recommend Calendly. It’s free to use, too! I had someone email me with a link to their Calendly page and I was able to see all their available time slots for a phone call. I picked a time slot that worked best, added notes about our call, and then confirmed. They confirmed back and I got an email asking if I wanted to add it to my Google Calendar. This is genius! Perfect for someone who doesn’t want to go back and forth all the time to schedule a call or meeting.
lovingOdin New York‘s White Collection. They just launched some feminine fragrances focusing on a theme of deconstructed florals and I love love love Milieu Rosa. Whenever I wear it, I feel like I am immediately transported to a beautiful flower shop in Paris. The rose scent is light, sweet, and absolutely perfect!
