May is always such a fun month. I love that there’s so much excitement in the air about the start of summer, upcoming vacations, holidays, events and parties, outdoor happy hours, beach days, and general fun in the sun! This May was no exception! Matthew and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary by taking a trip up to the Bay Area. It’s one of our favorite places because it’s where we met and started dating. Then, I finished off the month with some of my closest friends in Alaska! This month is one that will be hard to beat but June is my favorite month, and not just because it’s my bday month…although maybe that accounts for about 85% of it! Here are some of my highlights from my fun-filled May:
- Two of my favorite girlfriends came over for a sleepover! We ate a yummy Italian dinner, drank wine, played with beauty products, and caught up about life. Then we went for a walk along the beach the next morning, after a slightly scary morning earthquake. It was so fun to spend time together. Usually we have our monthly dinners but a few hours just don’t cut it! I love time with my girls!
- Cinco de Mayo! Celebrated with my favorite black bean and mushroom taquitos in my festive embroidered dress!
- Breakfast date at Bottega Louie! I love any opportunity to go downtown and get dressed up!
- Matthew and I celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Berkeley! It was so fun to see my alma mater and also eat breakfast at my favorite French spot, La Note! The cinnamon brioche french toast is to.die.for!
- Came home to a rainy LA! I started doing yoga again and it’s been so amazing, not just for my back and overall health, but also in lowering my stress levels. The hot yoga I did was perfect on this chilly, rainy day.
- Spent the weekend with my parents since Matthew was out of town. It was so nice to be at home, eating my Dad’s amazing home cooked meals, making banana mocha chocolate chip muffins with my Mom, watching Jane Austen movies, and going to the farmer’s market together. I love my parents so much!!
- Hosted at event at J.Crew in Los Angeles! I tried on a bunch of outfits and left with this adorable kiss print tee!
- Journeyed to Alaska with Princess Cruises! I had the best time exploring some of these small Alaskan towns. We even took a helicopter ride to go dog sledding on a glacier. The whole experience was so unreal! It’s been almost a week since I got back and I’m trying to hold onto all the amazing memories for as long as I can!
