Did you guys watch the Project Runway finale last night?! Ah I loved it! I’ve been obsessed with Project Runway since it first started. Did you know when I was younger I dreamed about being a fashion designer? I had sketch books and even took sewing classes, although, sadly, I was never that good. I realized I was more interested in the styling aspect but I have such respect for aspiring designers.
Every season I look forward to watching and seeing what the designers come up with, so it was incredibly special to attend the Project Runway show with Mary Kay at New York Fashion Week in September. It was so surreal to be there and to see it all first hand. Plus, I was literally 5 feet from Heidi Klum! 5 feet! The collection I was most obsessed with was Ashley’s. I knew as soon as the girls came out that Ashley was behind it. Besides the clothes being incredible, I was also blown away by the makeup. Mary Kay knocked it out of the park! Ashley’s inspiration was 1950’s Mexico City, so Luis Casco, Mary Kay Global Makeup Artist, used Mexican actress Maria Felix as his muse for creating the beauty looks. He used the shades in the flower headpieces as inspiration for the eye shadow shades. I loved that the models all had different shades depending on their skin tone. There were a lot of purples and greens, and the look focused on the eyes using the Mineral Eye Color in Iris. Then there was the stunning bold lip using the Lip Liner in Plum and Crème Lipstick in Rich Fig. Isn’t that gorgeous? This is definitely doable for fall or spring! Plus, who can forget the cat eye! Just you watch, my next beauty look is going to be pink eye shadow with a cat eye and deep plum lips!
