The #1 Wardrobe Essential

You know how they say the majority of women are wearing an incorrect bra size? Well I never really thought that was true until about two years ago. My best friend Lizzie told me that one of her PhD friends had been doing research on it and found the correct method for sizing. The key is to have a more secure band size for support. Most bras start at 32 but when properly sized, I was down to a 30. And because of the difference in volume, I went from a B to a D. Crazy, right? But I’m telling you the size has been absolutely perfect! That is until I got pregnant.

One thing they don’t tell you about pregnancy is how it’s not just your stomach that grows! For me, my first “pop” was actually my chest, with the addition of my rib cage growing significantly, to the point where I was no longer able to fit into my bras. Bras are the #1 wardrobe essential and you need them to fit properly. I went back to Wacoal, because they carry such a great wide range of sizes. (They actually carry up to a 38H!) Their Red Carpet Strapless Bra has an incredible fit, but I especially love how versatile it is. You can wear it strapless {obviously}, but also halter, crisscross, and one shoulder. I go to a lot of events, and don’t want to have to buy different bras for each outfit, so having one that will work in a multitude of ways is key. I find myself wearing the nude one all the time, even with shirts that don’t require a strapless bra.

I wore this strapless bra under a gorgeous spring floral dress that came in a halter style. I needed a bra that would give me support but remain invisible. You ask a bra to do so much for you and then you’re like, ok now go hide! I loved how the bra has a smooth seamless fabric, and it gives a really nice snug fit. If you’re looking for a new bra, which you should really be replacing every year, I’d highly recommend this one. So far it’s been the only one I’ve needed! Although I have a feeling I’ll be sizing up once the baby comes!

In person fittings are definitely the way to go so you can make sure you get a bra that fits properly. Remember, the band shouldn’t be able to be pulled out more than 2” from your body and the straps should not be painful or fall off the shoulders! Be ready to spend some time trying on the right ones but once you find it, you’ll be so happy!
