Whenever anyone asks me my height I always say “5’6″ when I’m standing up straight.” I have to include that caveat because unfortunately my posture is far from perfect. I took ballet when I was younger but that training has been completely undone after years of being hunched over a laptop. Post-baby I’ve been doing what I can to improve my posture because I’ve been having a ton of back issues, which some of you know about. I’m even in physical therapy because of it. Yikes! It’s definitely been my biggest challenge post-baby. I think my back issues stem from my severely weakened core, but the posture issue doesn’t help. No one really tells you how a baby will wreck havock on your back, regardless of whether you’ve had a prior injury or not. Breastfeeding, picking the baby up/putting them down, and rocking them for hours, cause a lot of stress though. It’s surprising that a 15 pounder can seem so much heavier with all your daily mommy duties. And they seem even heavier in the middle of the night when you’re absolutely exhausted!
I bring this up because I saw this plaid shirtdress and thought it would fit me perfectly. Wrong! It looks good here with these over the knee boots and this long cardigan, but I think the next time I wear it, leggings need to be involved. I’m not even that tall and yet I feel like this shirtdress is a tad too short on me. It’s definitely more of a tunic style. So if you’re 5’6″ or taller, take note! The dress is in such a great plaid print, but you either have to be a shortie to make it work as a dress, or you have to pair it with some leggings or tights! But that’s not an issue during winter, right?

The photos don’t do this long cardigan justice. Ah you guys it’s one of my favorite recent purchases! I wish you guys could tell how incredibly soft the material is. It is extremely comfortable and it goes with so much. The length is perfect too! I feel like brown is a go-to cardigan color this time of year, but black really goes with everything. This cardigan is something I know you all would love, so get it while you can. It’s under $50! I’m tempted to get it in the gray color too. What do you think?
I hope you all are having a great week! I’m sorry I’m so behind on comments these days. It’s been hard to keep up with things since the little guy arrived but I want you to know how much your comments mean to me. I’ll do my best to get to them soon, I promise! You all are the best and I really appreciate you all!
