I’m going to be honest with you all, I am not a morning person! Try as I might, I just can’t do it. This little guy’s early 6am (and sometimes 5am) wake up calls make it so tough for me. I rely on a good breakfast and a big cup of coffee! Oatmeal is my go-to in the mornings because it’s nutritious and filling and it also can be made really easily. I make oatmeal for Augustine too! Today I’m sharing my mornings with baby boy, plus my trick on making sure I get a good breakfast in my tummy as fast as possible!
I rely on my oatmeal breakfasts in the morning because I think they’re the most filling and satisfying. As much as I love an eggs benedict, who has time for that? I love Quaker Oats and when I heard they launched an Overnight Oats product I was in. I’m all about something easy that I can make ahead of time. Since I’m much more of a night owl, I can easily fill up the Quaker Overnight Oat cup with milk (lately I’ve been into almond milk), and then stick it in the refrigerator to cold-steep overnight. I can’t tell you how nice it is to wake up in the morning, open the fridge and have my breakfast all ready for me! While you can also put it in the microwave to warm it up, I prefer my overnight oats cold in the summertime! It’s just so much more refreshing! Also, love that they’re made with 100% whole grain oats, and other grains! Definitely a more nutritious option!
I’ll grab my oats and start eating while I prep Augustine’s oatmeal. Since I’ve been really into the Quaker Overnight Oats in Blueberry, Banana and Vanilla Bliss I made a similar oatmeal for Augustine. I added some quinoa to his oats and topped it with banana and blueberry chunks. Augustine is really into bananas right now so I’ve been calling him my little monkey!
If you’re looking for a fast and easy breakfast idea, Quaker’s Overnight Oats is where it’s at! I also love the Toasted Coconut and Almond Crunch one. I’ll add coconut milk to it if I’m feeling really tropical! I don’t think we’re going on a summer vacation this year so it’s the little things that make a difference!
