Every year Matthew and I wait until the last minute to plan our Halloween costumes. Ironically, we figure out what we want to be the next year right after Halloween. Then we forget and scramble. {of course!} Last year though, I was determined to plan earlier. Of course, being a new mama time escaped me, and I resorted to rush shipping. Thank you, Amazon. Luckily it worked out!
This year though, we made a point to plan at least three weeks early. That’s an accomplishment over here. At dinner one night Matthew and I said we weren’t going to leave the table until we finalized our costume. Ok, it was me, but he went along with it! We ended up on a Shark Attack because we thought it would be easy and funny- two good combos! I’m so happy with how it turned out. The one funny thing though, was that I ordered an 18-24 month size because I felt like it would fit perfectly in a few months. I wasn’t that early of a planner though. Definitely could have gotten the 12-18 size but at least he can fit into it for another year! It was so much fun dressing up and going down to the beach with Augustine this year! The weather was unseasonably gloomy but I think it was perfect for Halloween!
His poor little shark hood wouldn’t stay on his head for very long, but I think that’s because I ordered him a size too big. Oops!
Did any of you dress up for Halloween? Any other cute family costume ideas you have tried in the past or hope to try in the future? I feel like I already need to start planning next years! I already have a couple ideas so I’m making a reminder for myself on my calendar. Our wounded surfer, lifeguard and shark trio was an easy Halloween costume for a family of 3 in case you need any ideas!
P.S. Here’s a blast from Halloween 2010 past! We didn’t have a baby but we sure look like two!
Happy November everyone!
