Happy Friday friends! Fridays are one of the best days of the week. We can all agree, right? There’s just something about getting through that last day of work before a blissful two days off. Even though I work from home now, I still get that same burst of excitement and energy on Fridays. When I worked office jobs, they all had one thing in common: casual Fridays. I loved the idea that on Fridays we could dress down a bit and be more casual. Of course, I never opted for the athleisure look {although I probably could have at one of my jobs}, but I tried to find a summer outfit that would be casual, but still polished. Today I’m sharing some tips for dressing casually on Friday. I’m sure some of you might have some good tips too, so please leave them below!
Distressed denim is so casual, and maybe too casual for the office, but I liked that these jeans had a little frayed detail on the hem. I feel like these jeans make the outfit more laid back but they’re not as noticeable as big rips in the knees. I have a few of those pairs of jeans, but I prefer wearing them on the weekend.
My Favorite Polished But Still Casual Summer Outfit
I love this sleeveless sweater with the eyelet trim. This would be a great piece to wear to the office, if you’re allowed to show your shoulders. I know every workplace has different dress code standards and requirements, but I think this sweater still looks very polished for being sleeveless. I also think the navy with white is so classic, especially for a summer outfit. Sleeveless sweaters like these are great for the fluctuation in temperatures too!
I’ve been looking for a cute pair of sandals and I love this pair so much! The woven detail on the top of the shoe looks a little more sophisticated than a flip flop. Apparently, these shoes remind some people of a designer shoe, but luckily the cost is much much better!
As you might have read earlier this week, I’ve been loving switching up my hairstyles. Adding a scarf to my ponytail is my new go-to trick for looking instantly put together. I love that it gives a sophisticated, and slightly retro, touch to this outfit. What do you think?

I hope you all have a great weekend! Today is my birthday so I’m excited to spend the day with Matthew and Augustine. We’re basically trying to include all my favorite foods in 24 hours. That’s my kind of day! We’re celebrating with my parents tomorrow and then Sunday we’re going down to San Diego to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday! It’s going to be a fun one!
See you all Monday!
