As much as I love summer, I am definitely ready for fall to arrive. Our summer has just been so hectic thanks to weekend trips, birthdays, home projects, and of course our big news! So I am ready to slow down this fall and get organized. I’m starting with my work life, so I thought I would share my work organization tips with you!
These glasses in flecked ivory are my new faves!
My Top Work Organization Tips
I know it can be hard to set aside time to get organized, but you’ll be so much more productive when you’re finished that you’ll get a major return on your investment!
Do a Cleanse
No, not that kind of cleanse! I mean you can drink as much juice as you want, but I’m talking about an office (or cubicle!) cleanse. Go through every drawer, filing cabinet, bookshelf, and get rid of anything you don’t need. I like to always take stock of which pens have run dry, what business cards I need to save contact info from, and what papers need to be shredded. Once I’ve cleared my office of anything unnecessary, like books I won’t read again or office supplies I have no use for, I either throw the items out or donate them. Then I do some quick dusting and vacuuming, so my office feels extra clean! An essential oil diffuser adds a nice touch to a clean office. I love this model, it’s so affordable and will blend into your office decor.
Don’t Forget Tech
You know what I hate even more than a messy desk? A messy desktop! I make a point every few months to remove any unnecessary files from my desktop (I’m looking at you screenshots!), organize my Google Drive, and make sure any important photos and documents are backed-up. This is also a great time to give your inbox a little love. I like to organize important emails by projects, but you can find whatever organization system works for you. Then spend 10 minutes unsubscribing from any email lists you NO longer want to be on. You’ll feel way more calm if your inbox isn’t cluttered.
Get a Good Planner
January is not your only chance to get your hands on a new planner. There are plenty of cute options that allow you to fill in your own dates {like this one!}, but many brands release new dated versions mid-year when school is back in session. So right now is the best time to grab a new one if you don’t want to wait until 2019! The Erin Condren planner is pretty popular and I can see why! I use it and really like it. It’s a bit of an investment, but it really helps keep me organized. If you’re looking for a less expensive option, the one photographed above is from Target and is only $8! It’s even small enough to throw in your purse!

I always feel so much better and am so much more productive when I have a clean work space, an organized computer, and the perfect planner. Goodbye work stress! Well maybe not all of it, but a girl can dream! What are your best work organization tips?
