It’s almost officially fall in SoCal! Hooray! What that means for us, though, is that the temperatures are in the 80s! Not that ideal fall weather, let me tell you. Luckily I live close to the beach so cool mornings and evenings keep this fall-loving girl happy! Plus, we do get some pretty fall lighting! I know a lot of people come to Southern California in the fall and aren’t totally sure what to bring to wear. I hear ya! Some days are cooler than others. And others are hotter than others. Today I’m breaking down my go-to outfit for fall in SoCal! My best tip though: layer! You might want to be wearing a tank under that sweater!

sweater in ivory donegal . denim shorts . open toed ankle booties in tan {comes in black too!}. hat . bag {more colors} . ring . stacking rings . stone cuff . bangle . smaller cuff . lip powder in Spoil Me {such a fun product to get a lip stain effect!} .
I think the best outfit for fall in SoCal is a sweater with a pair of denim shorts and ankle booties. You can keep tanning those summer legs in the sunshine, but the sweater will come in handy if it gets too cool. I usually wear a tank under my sweaters so that if it warms up too much I can easily take the sweater off and wrap it around my waist or over my bag. This sweater is such a pretty color and I love the fit!

Denim shorts are such a summer item but they totally work in fall too, especially where we live. Most people live in their denim shorts year round to be honest! Sadly, we can usually get away with it! This denim pair was my favorite all summer long so I was glad to have a little extra time to wear them. Side note: I could barely fit into these shorts with my preggers belly growing by the day. Sadly I think I’ll have to put these away until after the baby comes!

Open-toed ankle booties are another great transitional shoe for our fall weather. I love this ankle bootie pair because it has a western feel with the sticking and buckle.

A great fall accessory to throw in is a hat! For fall in SoCal, a hat will shade you from the sun but it will still look appropriate for the season. I’ve been wanting to try this cadet style hat and I have to say I’m a fan! It pulls the outfit together and looks a little more stylish. I can’t wait to style this hat more ways!
