If there’s one thing that makes me feel most put together it’s a swipe of lipstick. Rarely do I go out of the house without a shade on my lips. For me, I almost feel naked without it, like something is missing. I’ve done several posts in the past highlighting favorite lipsticks but I might have just found my new favorite for spring and summer! It’s the lipstick everyone will be talking about!
The Spring/Summer Lipstick Everyone Will Be Talking About
If you saw my lipstick collection some of you might think I’m a hoarder! I recently went through them all around the holidays and got rid of some that were old, and others that I wasn’t wearing as often. Even still, my collection has almost 100 if you can believe it! And yes, if Marie Kondo asks, they all bring me joy! None have brought me quite as much joy as this new shade from Laura Mercier, though. I’ve heard so much about her beauty products (her tinted moisturizer has a cult following!) and when she launched her Rouge Essential Silky Crême Lipstick collection I knew I had to pick one up. I looked at ALL the shades, and loved seeing them on different skin tones, and decided on this one called L’Orange. I know it says orange but the swatch on the models looked like the most perfect pinky coral. I’ve been looking for a spring summer shade that would be classic and sophisticated and not skew too young. This shade is perfect, it’s incredibly creamy, and it also has a perfectly angled tip for applying on the go. These are little things that a true lipstick lover would totally appreciate! I can’t wait to wear this color to spring parties and events. It would be a perfect color for a Mother’s Day brunch too!
A Pretty Makeup Look for Spring
Some of the other lipsticks I was considering from the collection, that now I’m tempted to go get, are the Blush Pink and Coral VF! They’re all available at Bloomingdales if you want to check them out. When I was first getting into makeup I loooved going to the Bloomingdales counter at the mall to look at all the products. We actually had a Bloomingdales walking distance from our high school, so after classes we’d walk over and get some fries in the food court before heading to the makeup counters. Bloomingdales always felt like the stylish and fun retailer, like the store your cooler older sister would shop at!
