May Edit: Texture & Neutrals

I don’t shy away from color, but lately I’ve been really obsessed with the idea of having more neutral styles in my wardrobe and in my home decor. I know that it’s not completely realistic for me to switch to a completely neutral life {little kids = all the stains!} but I do think for spring and summer it can be really chic to embrace whites and tans. Plus I like that you can pick up any of these pieces and easily incorporate them into your existing wardrobe or home.

To keep these pieces from feeling too simple, I went for styles that had a lot of texture. Like this crocheted tote bag, tassel hoop earrings, and this ribbed bathing suit. I am obsessed with white bathing suits and I feel like this one would look so cute with denim cutoffs. It’s almost like a top right?

Even this coin necklace has visible texture, which I think is just so pretty. So do these raffia sandals which just scream summer to me. And I love that they are under $75!

So how do we feel about matching mother-daughter outfits…I’m not going to lie, when I came across this white eyelet dress and white eyelet baby outfit, I was pretty tempted. I feel like we could pull it off since they aren’t the exact same style. Can you tell I am loving having a daughter to dress??

For home, I thought this blanket would fit in any room of our house. Again, I really like how the tassels add some dynamic texture. I’m not sure if you remember, but I bought some woven baskets for our upstairs kids’ bathroom after we renovated. And I really like the contrast they bring since so much of the bathroom is made up of smooth surfaces. Plus they help keep us organized!
