One of the things I don’t think I realized before becoming a mom was how much my body would change. During pregnancy, your body grows and expands to support the baby, but the changes aren’t just limited to your belly. I remember being so surprised about how much my chest grew. I hadn’t even publicly announced my pregnancy with Augustine and one of my best friends texted me after she saw one of my blog posts saying it looked like I got a breast enhancement! lol! I quickly needed larger bras, to say the least. During that pregnancy I bought a larger sized bra {which of course I outgrew again a few months later}, but I wish I had purchased a bra that could take me from the maternity to nursing stage. I learned my lesson so this time around I quickly went right to what ended up being my favorite maternity and nursing bra. And I have it in 4 colors, so I guess that means I’m committed!
The Best Nursing Bra… So good That I Have it in 4 Colors!
I’ve tried A LOT of nursing bras and the reason I come back to this one from Motherhood Maternity is because it checks all the boxes:
Support – Did you know that pregnant or lactating breast tissue can be 35% heavier than average breast tissue?? You need a bra that can support the extra weight up there!
Comfort- I want a bra that is soft, stretchy and most importantly wire-free since wires can also clog milk ducts. Comfort is also really important since I wear my nursing bras to bed, too. Another thing I didn’t know I would need to do!
One-handed clip-down nursing access – because you’re likely holding a baby in one arm, am I right?!
Fit Flexibility– I grew from a B to a D cup during my pregnancy with Corinna (I went to a DD with Augustine!) so I appreciate a bra that can accommodate fluctuations in cup size.
Opacity – Nursing makes your nippes more pronounced so no-show is a MUST! I like the squishy pads that hide all, including milk leaks. Plus, I like when they’re removable so that I can easily wash them.
Those are kind of my biggest factors when searching for a nursing bra and I am willing to pay for it because I know how hard it is to find a good one. I’ve tried on some terrible and totally uncomfortable nursing bras over the past 3 years. It just so happens though that my go-to nursing bra is only $25! It’s the best thing because trust me, it’s nice to have more than one (you’ll likely have one for daytime, one for nighttime and there will probably be one in the wash too). Plus, you need some light and dark color options!
I used the seamless bra from Motherhood Maternity with Augustine and now Corinna so I was really excited when they reached out wanting me to tell you about it. I can’t believe I haven’t done a post about nursing bras because I get a lot of questions on InstaStories about what bras I recommend, along with what maternity brands I default too. Some of you might know and love this nursing bra too because it’s actually a really popular one. It’s been around for 5 years and has over 500 5-star reviews. I’m also a big fan of Destination Maternity’s clothing options {remember this polka dot top?!}. This leopard print dress is a new favorite, and I love the way they designed the pull up/down nursing cover. It gives a good amount of privacy while nursing and you don’t feel like you’re showing too much skin, which would happen with a typical wrap style. I’m going to show you how it works on Stories today if you’re interested!
By the way, if you need help measuring for a nursing bra, check out this guide that was really helpful for me. And if you’re interested in the Motherhood Maternity Seamless Bra they’re having a deal where you can buy 3 and get the 4th for free! They even have a cross-back design that’s fun for summer! I recently got a blush color that I didn’t realize I would love as much as I do! I usually always default to nude but pink is a much prettier neutral option! Don’t you agree?
Let me know if you’ve tried this bra and what you think!

I also picked up these nursing-friendly items that you’ll be seeing in some upcoming posts:
leopard nursing dress – so cute for fall and could be worn even when you’re done nursing!
delivery & nursing gown – this would have been amazing if my labor with Corinna had been longer than an hour! Lots of handy snaps for for the hospital though and for postpartum!
Eat Local tee – too cute!
Pull Over Tulip Hem Nursing Tee – lots of color options!
BOUNCEBACK Millennium Post Pregnancy Pants – so flattering!
DISCLOSURE: Thank you to Motherhood Maternity for partnering with me on this post. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own. I love working with brands I love and being able to share with you. Thanks for supporting them, and me in return!
