I have some VERY exciting news! I finally tracked down my dream bag! If any of you love designer handbags, you know how big of a deal it is when you finally can hold the bag you’ve been eyeing and thinking about. So some backstory: about 5 years ago Matthew and I were in Seattle and I went into a Chanel boutique just to take a peek at their pretty bags. You know, for fun! Chanel has always been the epitome of classic luxury and their handbags are incredibly lovely. Anyway, I saw this one bag that I immediately loved. I thought about it over our trip and then decided I couldn’t justify the high price tag. I absolutely loved it, but when you’re buying your first designer bag you can really talk yourself out of it. At least I could. Even still, I thought about it for years afterward. Years! I’d go into boutiques to see if they had it- no luck, and I’d browse on resale sites online – still with no luck. Then the other week I looked and I found it on a pre-loved designer website. The price was sooo much better than it had been when I was in the Seattle boutique, and the condition was “excellent,” – a few slight marks that I honestly didn’t notice or care about. Even still, I thought about it {for less than 24 hours mind you!} before I was like no I have to get it. I patiently waited for it to arrive, and I think my heart stopped for a quick second when I opened up the box. I have absolutely NO regrets – the bag is gorgeous, so classic, and I know I’ll wear it for years and years to come – and hopefully Corinna will wear it one day too! Sharing some photos of my new little beauty below, along with some other gorgeous handbags I have my eye on {all that can be bought significantly lower than retail if you find it pre-loved}.
My Dream Bag that I Finally Splurged On!
There are so many things I love about this bag: it’s nude so it will go with practically everything I wear, the size is not too big, not too small, it can be worn crossbody, on my shoulder, shortened at elbow, and even as a clutch. I also love that while it’s Chanel it’s not as visibly noticable since the lock is a little different, along with the chain. The lock doesn’t have the 2 interlocking Cs and while I do love that detail, I like that this one felt a little more understated. You can compare it to this classic Chanel to see what I mean. My bag is called the 2.55 reissue and it’s in the distressed calfskin. It has a slight shine to it without being super shiny like patent leather. I love that the material makes it feel more special, and it can easily be dressed up or down. What do you think??
Of course now I have a huge designer bag wishlist and while I won’t be getting another soon, here are some I have my eye on!
SHOP USED DESIGNER BAGS
I’m thinking my ideal next bag would be something red and fun, a larger brown tote/satchel, or a black clutch. See? This is a problem!
What is your dream splurge item? Would you buy it pre-loved? I feel like that’s the best way to save a little money!
