One of my goals this year is to document more. Life happens way too quickly and before we know it, it will be December and I’ll be over here scratching my head trying to remember it all {like I did when I wrote this post lol!}. I thought sharing Monthly Recaps would be a nice way to share photos I might not have posted on social media, and give you details on recipes, products and other things I tried and liked this month. I’m planning to share some resources for my local SoCal girls – restaurants we tried, beaches we visited, etc. I’m also sharing some weekend sales below so make sure to check it out!
Monthly Recap: January 2020
FAMILY
Matthew’s brother got married and we all went down to San Diego to celebrate! My parents came too, I always love seeing both our families at the same time. It was such a special day that I’ll always remember.
Matthew and I had an at-home date night with homemade ricotta gnocchi that was so fun! This recipe wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be to make and it was so delicious!
Last weekend we went on a family walk/scooter ride by the Harbor in Dana Point, it was such a fun outing that we’d love to make a more regular thing!
FOOD
I have become obsessed with having toast with avocado, spinach and a 6 minute soft boiled egg for breakfast or even lunch. I sprinkle lots of Trader Joe’s South African Spice seasoning on top!
STYLE
This cozy jacket is perfect for workouts or when I’m running around with the kids! It’s currently 40% off! I have the pink shade which I think is so fun, but it comes in 7 really great shades to choose from!
ENTERTAINMENT
I watched Outlander Season 2 & 3 on Netflix this month and I loved it so much. All I wanted to do was find out what happened next, so a lot of binge-watching happened this month. It’s seriously such an amazing show, you have to try it!
HEALTH
I started adding camu camu powder {also known as camu powder} in my smoothies and I have to say, it’s been such an effortless change. It doesn’t taste like anything once it’s blended up with all the other ingredients and it adds a nice extra dose of nutrients to our smoothie! Just 1 teaspoon provides 10 times more vitamin C than an orange!
I’m sharing a little bit more about my postpartum workout routine on the blog on Monday but one thing I’ve switched up this month has been working out at night. It’s been so much easier for me to work out at nighttime when I don’t have to worry about a naptime being cut short. Plus, I can shower and get ready for bed once I’m done, instead of feeling like I need to put makeup on and dress up.
