Hi everyone! Who can believe we’re now a week into July? Even though life is a little different right now, summer is in full swing and I am ready to switch up my skincare to products that are refreshing and repairing. The sun can really take a toll on my skin so I’ve been wanting to add in some products to really nourish and soothe. I’ve also been looking for more natural-based products that are free from harsh chemicals and are more on the clean side ingredient-wise. I’m excited to share all of my latest finds, plus give my honest thought about the products I tried last month.
July Beauty: Refresh and Rescue
There are plenty of nights I am up with the kids and as a result I wake up with dark under eye circles or puffiness- I’m sure my fellow moms can relate with me here! I really wanted an eye cream that targets those fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles, so I am really hopeful this product will do the trick. It’s supposed to reduce the appearance of aging around the eyes and help with the loss of firmness and elasticity. I always like to take a look at product reviews and I was shocked to see that 100% of women who have used this product saw significant improvement in the appearance of crow’s feet! Sadly, those have been a new development of being in my 30s. This under eye cream is also formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates which is great since I am trying to use more natural products.
Kate Somerville DeliKate Recovery Serum
Ok cute bottle alert! I love KS products and this recovery serum looks so soothing and refreshing. It’s aimed at helping restore your skin’s barrier, which seems ideal for summer. The serum also has cucumber seed oil that helps soothe and calm your skin all while making it softer. After just one use, 100% of customers noticed a big difference with their skin’s softness and overall hydration. This serum should be super easy to incorporate into my skincare routine by using one or two drops in the morning or at night. If you have sensitive skin this would be great to use as it is dermatologist tested as well.
First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask
In the summer I really like using face masks on a regular basis to help refresh my skin. I feel like using sunscreen and being out in the sun more frequently can make my skin lean on the dry side. First Aid Beauty has some great skincare products and they are made with more natural clean ingredients. This face mask is verified clean at Sephora, too! This mask is perfect for dryness, dullness, redness or uneven skin texture and is supposed to leave your skin feeling soft, dewy and smooth. There were a few ingredients that really stood out to me when researching this mask. It is made with arnica flower which is said to help with your skin’s healing properties and there is calendula derived from the English marigold that works to smooth and calm your skin. I can’t wait for a little at home spa night because this mask will be the first thing I grab!
Bliss Makeup Melt Wipes: Oil-Free Makeup Remover Wipes
What do you use to take your makeup off? I have tried a few different methods and while I love cleansing balms and oils, wipes just end up being so easy and convenient. You can throw these in your beach bag or purse and they are great to travel with! These wipes work to remove stubborn makeup, apparently even waterproof mascara, without leaving your skin feeling stripped or dry. Can’t wait to put this to the test! They are made with German chamomile which is known for soothing and calming your skin and these wipes also have marshmallow root to help hydrate and soften your skin. Like the products above, these wipes are made with naturally derived ingredients and do not contain any harmful chemicals. They are also safe for people who have sensitive skin and wear contact lenses.
Arcona Celestial Activating Essence:
Not only is the packaging beautiful for this product, but it looks so refreshing especially on hot days! This activating essence claims to help blur fine lines, wrinkles, and imperfections, and leave your skin feeling smooth. Sounds interesting right?! It also contains antioxidants such as chamomile, rose, and green tea that fight against environmental impurities. You can apply the product in a few different ways. You can spray it onto a cotton pad and press it gently into your skin, add to a serum {like the KS one above}, or simply spritz over your face for a quick dose of hydration and to brighten your skin’s complexion. Free from PEG’s, talc, mineral oil, and more so it is safe for daily use. I can’t wait to use this and it definitely will be useful to carry in my purse when I need a quick spritz of moisture.
June Reviews: Refreshing & Hydrating Skincare
Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser
This was a great gentle cleanser and really left my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. It is formulated with green clay which helps to clear oil, dirt, makeup and pollution from your pores. After a day in the sun my face can get a little more on the oily side and this was great for a deep clean without my skin feeling stripped or irritated.
FARMACY Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner with Moringa + Papaya
As you all may know, I am a big fan of using toner in my skincare routine. This toner is great for preventing breakout and helps reduce acne. It does not contain alcohol, which many toners do, so it really hydrated my skin and was never left feeling dry. I loved how light and gentle it feels on my skin.
This face oil is made with such great ingredients like chia, pumpkin and pomegranate, although the scent doesn’t lean in any of those directions interestingly enough. The oil is so nourishing though and it’s amazing if you suffer from dry skin. There are actually 21 seed oils listed in the ingredients, hence the “Super Seed” name! You can apply this facial oil day or night and it helps combat signs of aging.
First Aid Beauty Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
This is a summer must-have! Applying sunscreen everyday is so important and this mineral sunscreen is perfect for that. It is super lightweight, sheer, and oil free so you can easily apply your makeup as normal on top. Perfect to throw into your makeup routine and absolutely worth applying every day! Excited to have found a new sunscreen I like!
Unite 7Seconds Condition Leave In Detangler
I was really excited about this detangler, I mean 7 seconds to tangle free hair sounds great to me! Not only does this product moisturize your hair, but it also protects against styling tools and heat from the sun. This really makes such a difference when brushing wet hair and helps get out those knots that can be tough to get out. I LOVE the smell, especially since it reminds me of going to the hair salon. I’d highly recommend this detangler if you need a new one! Plus it’s on sale!
Fingers crossed that this month’s products help refresh and rescue my summer skin!
