During these warm summer days, we all want clothes that are breathable, cool, and comfortable. We head to the beach, relax at the park, and spend lots of time outside in the heat, which is why linen in the summer is so popular! While linen is very light and breathable {and don’t get me wrong, I looove some good linen pieces}, I think I found an even better summer fabric – rib knit! Rib knit is the perfect summer fabric and has become my new go-to. I’ll tell you why!
This necklace from Fleuri is my new favorite!! It is so gorgeous with the pearls. Perfect bday gift for a June bday girl too 😉

Goodbye linen, hellooo rib knit! While both fabrics are airy and comfortable, I’ve found that rib knit has a few extra benefits that linen doesn’t. First of all, linen wrinkles, like, really easily. So with busy summer days and being on the go, a fabric that you have to take time to iron isn’t ideal! Another thing is that linen is not as moveable as rib knit because linen doesn’t stretch, and you want to be able to stretch out when relaxing at the beach or park!
Rib knit is just sooo soft, comfortable, and even cozy – it feels like pajamas! But not too cozy to the point where it’s too hot to wear during warm days, so it really is perfect for summer. Rib knit is also totally in right now, so you can find a range of items and styles that suit your preference! I’m really into the rib knit midi dresses right now, especially with a subtle leg slit like this one here. An easy to throw on dress with an easy to wear fabric? Doesn’t get easier than that! I also love that the leg slit adds even more breathability to the outfit, and it’s super flattering!
Rib knit tops also look so cute and casual tucked into a pair of high-waisted jeans or shorts! Try a basic knit tee or bodysuit with your favorite pair of shorts and you have a perfect on the go summer outfit! There’s also rib knit cardigans and sweaters for those chillier summer days and even really cute knit sweater pants! There’s something about the knit rib look that looks so chic, but casual, and I absolutely love it! If you’re looking for even more rib knit options, try some cute and cozy socks or knit scrunchies to complete the look! When I said rib knit is super in right now, I meant it, because there’s also so many rib knit bathing suit options, like this one piece! With all of the options out there, you can wear rib knit from morning to night through all of your activities, while staying cool, comfortable, and stylish!
