One of those classic, can’t beat it, outfit combinations has to be a white tee and jeans. It just works! When I’m wanting to wear something classic and comfortable that’s usually what I reach for. In an effort to mix it up just a little bit, I looked for some updated pieces to my favorite classics.
These patchwork jeans from Old Navy are so fun and such a nice switch from my typical skinny jeans. They’re distressed but the floral patchwork detail adds a fun element, that’s perfect for fall. Likewise, instead of a white tee, I paired my jeans with a lace blouse. The detail is feminine and looks good with skirts as well as jeans. I think it could also work underneath a shift dress, when you’re wanting to layer a little bit more.

Do you have an outfit
combination that you typically reach for? It’s fun to think of different ways
to update them. I think next time instead of a t-shirt dress, I’m going to wear a shirt dress. It’s a small change but it makes a difference.
P.S. These photos were taken in New York City on our apartment’s fire escape. I am a little afraid of heights so walking out there with heeled boots scared the heck out of me! Thank you Val for encouraging me to take a risk for these photos! I love when you’re the daredevil to my scardy cat, like when we went on a helicopter ride in Alaska! Scary but worth it!

DISCLOSURE: Thank you Old Navy for collaborating with me on this post! All thoughts and opinion, as always, are my own.
New York Fashion Week is one of the busiest times of the year for me. I’m not used to having back-to-back meetings and appointments. Usually, back in LA, my days are much more relaxed. I can choose what to do and not to do. But in New York, I feel the pressure to do as much as I absolutely can. Now that Fashion Week is over I’m excited to get back into my regular routine.
One of the big adjustments to Fashion Week is being gone all day, and relying on your phone for absolutely everything. Besides looking at my calendar I use it for emails on the go, GPS map instructions, UBER, ordering things online, not to mention social media! You can only imagine how my portable charger came in handy!
I’ve been reading books lately about time management and looking for systems to incorporate that will keep me sane and happy, especially when I’m busy and on-the-go. Recently PayPal launched their One Touch with PayPal feature which is the first ever single touch payment experience across Android and iOS. I’ve been using PayPal for years {it was really the first digital wallet system} and have always loved how incredibly easy it is. I use PayPal to send money to family, pay back friends, order online at my favorite stores, and even for invoicing. When an online store accepts PayPal I am so happy because I absolutely hate constantly typing in my credit card and payment information. It’s such a pain, and sometimes enough for me to even rethink my order.
The new One Touch with PayPal feature allows for easier and faster checkout when using the same device and same browser. It still has all those safety features in place too so you know it’s a secure process. The thought of buying something at the touch of a button might sound dangerous for your wallet, but honestly it saves so much time. When you’re crazy busy, any additional moments spared make a huge difference.
At the beginning of my day I
logged into PayPal on my phone and tablet and chose to stay logged-in for
easier, faster checkout. Then, when I was ready to buy, I could skip the PayPal
log-in screen. On one afternoon I was able to use it on Nike to buy a new pair
of running shoes {I forgot my pair in LA}, buy plane tickets on JetBlue for an
upcoming trip that I can’t wait to tell you about, renew my Netflix
subscription {now that I re-watched all of Gilmore Girls I want to binge watch
another series!}, as well as order clothing items from ASOS and Net-a-Porter for my
upcoming trip. I almost used it to order a last minute massage on LivingSocial
because my feet were killing me, but saving that for another day!
If you have any books and tips on
how to stay organized and efficient please let me know! And if you want to read
more about One Touch, here is their faq
page!

More proof that I liked to stay comfortable during fashion week! Towards the end of my trip, when I was feeling sick of most of the items in my suitcase, I really just wanted to wear a plain white tee. I think I actually said something along the lines of, “I wish I could just wear a t-shirt and sweatpants.” While the thought of that is so funny to me, {Can you imagine?} I decided to wear a white tee but dress it up in a way that I felt would be appropriate for shows and meetings.
These metallic pants definitely did the trick! They are such statement makers in this light gold color, and, bonus, they are incredibly comfortable with the lightweight material and the drawstring closure. I added these leopard pumps {told you I’d wear them a lot!}, and a statement necklace to make this a dressed up casual outfit. Just my kind of look!

How was your weekend everyone? It felt so good to be back home. I unpacked and did a lot of cleaning and organzing. I felt like I hadn’t done that for awhile- I left the house in a disaster while packing for NYC- and it was really presssing at me. I so love days where I can just get a bunch of stuff done!
