Lemon Rosemary & Cucumber Cocktail M Loves M @marmar
Summer is the perfect season for outdoor parties and lots of entertaining. We love having our neighbors and friends over. Right now we’re working on getting our backyard together and I have so many ideas! Once it’s all together I will be so happy!
The other week we made this delicious lemon and rosemary cocktail for a summer cocktail hour at home. We have a huge rosemary bush so I decided to prune some of it and make a rosemary simple syrup. {I love that it’s called simple syrup because it is just that..soo simple!} We muddled some cucumber, added some lemon juice and gin and topped it with some sparkling water. It was so delicious and refreshing and perfect for these warm evenings!

Lemon & Rosemary Cocktail

INGREDIENTS

grated lemon zest from 1/2 lemon
1/4 cup sugar

2 Tablespoons lemon juice
2 Tablespoons rosemary simple syrup {recipe below}
4 ounces gin
10 1/4-inch thick slices of cucumber
sparkling water
rosemary for garnish

Combine sugar and lemon zest in a small bowl. Transfer sugar to a small plate.

To serve: Dip the rim of a double old fashioned glass into a shallow cup of water, letting excess water drip off. Then, twist the glass into the lemon zest sugar. Fill each glass halfway with ice and set aside.

Add cucumber to a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add lemon juice, rosemary simple syrup, gin, and 5 ice cubes. Shake and then strain into prepared glass. Top with sparkling water and serve with a spring of rosemary.

1 bunch of rosemary

light knit and drapey pants

loose black sweater with army green pants M Loves M @marmar
These army green pants have become some of my favorites. I wore them before with a blue blouse to work, but paired it this time with this loose black sweater for a casual date night look. I love comfortable knits and this sweater is one that you just want to live in. It’s nice and light and would look so cute paired with jean shorts, or even tucked into a pencil skirt for an office look.

How was your weekend everyone? Matthew and I went down to San Diego and celebrated some birthdays with his family. We had a Mexican fiesta with tacos and margaritas for his Grandma’s 85th bday and then on Sunday we hung out by the pool and played with our nieces and nephews. It’s always so fun to come down to San Diego for more than just a day.
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you have a great day!

the friday five

the friday five with white tortoise sunglasses, paris tee, yellow skirt, white sandals and brown crossbody bag M Loves M @marmar
Happy Friday everyone! This week I’ve been crushing on the following:
WHITE TORTOISE SUNGLASSES. I’m a sucker for tortoise and white tortoise glasses are high on my list. I love this eyewear brand, too. The styles are always so chic and classic.
I told you I’m dreaming of getting away so this PARIS TEE is pretty perfect! It’s a little encouragement for fall travel!
How pretty is this YELLOW SKIRT? You should definitely get it before it’s sold out, or get it in the white color! I love the texture.
WHITE SANDALS make such a statement. I think these would go with everything, and they’d make my legs look extra tan!
I have this CROSSBODY BAG in yellow and love it so I’m thinking the brown would be another great color to get. It’s such a great price and I like that it’s an easy bag to grab and go. When I’m running quick errands, or taking Ginger on a walk, I don’t want to be lugging around a big, bulky bag.
Anything on your wish list this week? See some of my favorite bags from the Nordstrom Sale, as well as other favorites!
