Even though I’m not in school anymore I love the excitement during the month of August. Everyone is getting things together that will help back their life a little easier, like getting a new planner, a tech accessory, or a basic tee that you can wear with anything. Whether you’re going back to school or back to life, these are some essentials to keep you organized and on top of things!

back to class

Last week I talked about how sneakers are a back to class essential. Boots are another given during the fall. Ankle boots go with everything and while I have several cute heeled versions, I wanted a pair of a flat lace-up booties. These ones from Steve Madden are usually over $100 but at DSW they’re $69 and they come in some darn cute colors. I felt like this cognac brown would be the most versatile, knowing how I usually dress this time of year. For my second Back to Class post with DSW, I paired the boots with this pretty striped dress and an oatmeal boyfriend cardigan. I also threw on these coffee-colored tights since we were having a chilly morning with sprinkles {what’s going on August?!}. When it gets a colder I think the dress would look great with some over-the-knee boots too, don’t you think?

back to work with ASOS

Just because some of us aren’t in school anymore doesn’t mean we can’t take advantage of this Back to School time! Instead of Back to School we can think of it as Back to Work. Any excuse for a new wardrobe and office supplies, right? I teamed up with ASOS to show a fall-styled and office ready look! This polka dotted blouse is polished yet versatile. It can be worn to work with a pair of trouser pants, or this full midi skirt, and on the weekends with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a pair of bright flats. I love the longer length of this purple skirt. It’s modest yet still on trend for fall. Two wins in my book! And don’t get me started about this pair of plaid heels. In.love!
