What would we do without emojis? They give texts so much more life, they’re often better in groups, and they just keep me entertained. I’m so glad we all fought for the new ones {avocado, taco, and fingers crossed were at the top of my list!}. What’s your most used emoji? In my Frequently Used section are the heart eyes {you too, right?}, the sparkles, and of course the dancing girl in the red dress. Which brings me to this outfit. Doesn’t it remind you of that emoji? ? This dress would be so perfect for Valentine’s Day but really anytime you want to go out for a fun night, whether it’s for an event or an evening with the girls. I’m all about this flattering halter neckline and the feminine ruffle detail. Ruffles are a trend I’m seeing so much for Spring 2017 and I couldn’t be more happy about that. Give me all the girly trends!
This has been one of my favorite December’s because, for the most part, it’s actually felt like winter. Well, a Southern California winter that is! The weather is crisp and cool which means I’m able to make good use of my coats and cardigans! Today I’m styling two December outfits with Old Navy today: a dressed up casual look and one that’s perfect for the rainy, El Nino days of winter ahead!
If chambray and tweed doesn’t say back to school, I don’t know what does. Ok, maybe plaid and loafers. And burgundy and mustard. Or scarves and corduroy! Hm..there is a reason I love fall clothes…there are so many options! This pink mini skirt is such a cute piece. The plaid is classic but I love that the pink and blue colors make it fun and slightly more interesting. I also think the color palette is good for the transition from summer to fall. This skirt could easily be worn with a pretty white tank. I paired the look with these mule sandals in a versatile taupe color. Shoes like these ones are so easy for running around and staying comfortable while still looking put together. I totally rely on them!

How was your weekend everyone? Matthew and I were in Santa Barbara for a wedding and we had so much fun. I feel like Matthew and I fall in love with every city we travel to, like Seattle! We’ve been to SB before but this time was much more memorable. We had some incredible meals, found a bunch of cute stores, drank delicious coffee, and basically pretended to house hunt. All the neighborhoods are so cute and I love that Spanish-style architecture. We can pretend! Matthew and I also started seriously planning an international trip for fall. I’m so excited and can’t wait to share more as soon as our tickets are booked! We haven’t done a big big trip since our honeymoon so I’m totally looking forward to it!
Welcome to M Loves M! My name is Mara and I created this lifestyle site in 2009 as a place to share my love of fashion, beauty, food and entertaining. I moved from Southern California to Idaho and love adventuring with my husband Matthew, our two children, and our dog Ginger. We're also pregnant with baby #3, due this autumn! I strive to create a site that’s relatable to women, while also being inspirational. I’m so glad you stopped by!
