Happy Thanksgiving + Favorites on Sale

happy thanksgiving + black friday sales 2021- M Loves M @marmar

Happy Thanksgiving friends! I hope you had a wonderful day with loved ones eating some delicious food! We ended up having a simple Thanksgiving with just the four of us but it was still very special. This is my second Thanksgiving making this herby mushroom croissant stuffing and it’s the best ever! I also made this chocolate-caramel macadamia nut tart that we always love! We also tried a few new recipes: this easy mashed potato recipe with a secret ingredient, and these roasted Brussels sprouts and broccoli. Matthew isn’t a huge brussels sprouts fan and surprisingly enough, he loved them!

Today we’ve been keeping it pretty low-key by cleaning and finishing some Christmas decorating! We started a little earlier than normal this year but there are a few things I’m hoping to do, like hang garland on our stairs. In past years, prepping for Black Friday posts has been incredibly overwhelming and time-consuming, so this year I just wanted to share a few of the sales I’m shopping + things I have and love that are on sale. This list isn’t going to be exhaustive but hopefully it will allow you to make thoughtful purchases on things you need or want. I’m trying to shop small for all our families this year but let me know if there are any gift guides you’re interested in.

WHAT I BOUGHT

This coffee maker has been on my list for almost a year now so I finally got it since it’s on sale. I miss having a cup of drip coffee in the mornings and this one is supposed to brew a really excellent cup. It has a special certification ensuring that it’s a top-rated brew.

A bunch of button-ups and shirts for Augustine since they’re on such a great sale. This sale is one I shop every year because I get the kids spring wardrobes taken care of!

Christmas pajamas for next year! I want to take advantage of the sale and then I have them at the beginning of the next holiday season. This is the style we’ve been buying since Augustine was 3 months old! By the way, something we started this year was wrapping the pajamas up and putting them on the kids’ beds to find after Thanksgiving dinner. Going to bed in Christmas pajamas last night made me feel happy that the Christmas season is officially here!

J.Crew’s sale is so good this year! 40% off everything and 60% off sale items. Here are some of the best-sellers and I can vouch for several of them, like this super-soft sweater {would make a great gift!}.

New denim! This pair is such a good style. Also tempted by these cute flats!

The most gorgeous presets from Jess Kettle are on sale and I’m not joking when I say I’ve had them on my list since last year when I missed out on the sale. Excited to share some before/afters with you!

Some Items I have on Sale

My everyday bag is currently 30% off! Wears so well and holds a lot!

Love this pair of jeans that’s 30% off!

30% off any hat from my favorite milliner, or hat maker. The Adriana style is one I wear all fall! The Alara is another wool style that I think it gorgeous. I was hoping to get the Simone but it sold out before I could get it.

15% off on the shampoo and conditioner I get for the kids. Plus the Tubby Todd bath bombs which are their favorite thing and a perfect stocking stuffer!

The liquid collagen I’ve been using is on sale in some wellness bundles! There’s also a free gift with purchase and $10 off your cart. I’ve loved the liquid collagen called Liquid BioCell Life + Trim. Liquid collagen is more absorbable and there are so many studies about how effective this one is!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Essentials for a Weekend at the Lake

essentials for a weekend at the lake - M Loves M @marmar

We’ve been so thrilled to have family visiting from out of town. Not only do we get to spend precious family time together, but we also get to show them around our new state, and find some new places for all of us to explore. We’re heading up to Donnelly, Idaho for a weekend getaway and today I’m sharing some of the essentials for a weekend at the lake. It’s been much harder to get out of the house with little ones, not to mention we’ve been having a 100-degree heatwave, so I’ve been relying on delivery/curbside pickup everything. I’ve shared with you all about our favorite membership service in the past and today I’m going to tell you just how helpful it was when it came to picking up some last-minute essentials!

walmart+ essentials for a weekend at the lake - M Loves M @marmar

We’ve become HUGE fans of Walmart+ and that’s putting it lightly. They offer free delivery from your store, member prices on fuel, a very handy mobile scan & go feature, Walmart+ free shipping, no order minimum, along with Rx for less. They have monthly memberships, but personally the annual has been the way to go for us. It’s one of those services we’ve really benefitted from and have found to be incredibly worth it. When getting ready for our trip, there was so much to do that I just had to rely on a Walmart+ order. Here are some of the last minute essentials for a weekend at the lake:

LAST MINUTE ESSENTIALS FOR A WEEKEND AT THE LAKE

Paper Towels– With 7 kids in one house, this is a MUST! These are always are go-to pick.

Toilet Paper– Last year Matthew stayed in a vacation rental with NO toilet paper! Can you imagine?! Now, this is something that we ALWAYS bring with us!

Paper Plates- Sometimes it’s just easier to use paper plates. With 15 people in one house, we would be doing a lot of dishes!! We probably won’t use all of these on our trip, but I bet they’ll last us through summer!

Sandwich Bags– Want to hear something funny? Augustine and Corinna won’t eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at home, but if we’re on the road, they LOVE them! I got some sandwich bags for us to pack easy lunches for our days at the beach.

Go-To Lotion for Dry Skin – We are located at a bit of an attitude now which takes us, and our skin, some time to get used to. I usually always have this lotion at our house because of how well it moisturizes our skin. I think it’s the addition of oatmeal, don’t you think? Either way, I’m bringing this for my sister-in-laws to use too!

Citronella Candle– Those mosquitos are out to get me, so I’m taking matters into my own hands! This candle will be so pretty on our outdoor table, but it will help protect us from any bites which makes me love it even more!

Bug Spray– And when absolutely necessary, I’ll use this bug spray. It’s DEET-free and made with some good ingredients to ward off those mean little bugs who just love my skin.

Swimsuit– This black swimsuit is almost too good! Ribbed style with the prettiest neckline. I love that it would look so cute as a top with a pair of shorts too. Love an item that can multitask!

Baby Sunscreen– Always looking to protect Augustine and Corinna’s skin, especially with our super harsh sun. I’ve gotten this sunscreen before and thought it worked great. I love that this set included a baby-friendly insect repellent too! I’ll have to report back on my thoughts between the two.

Floatie– One of the things we are most looking forward to is going out on a boat! We’re bringing some tubes and floaties so that we can maximize our fun out on the water!

Are you planning any weekend getaways this summer? Make sure to check out Walmart+. It’s been such a helpful service for us and with so much going on this summer, I’m sure you’ll love it just as much as we have.
