Every year I promise myself I’m going to be on top of things like ordering my Halloween costume early and sending out the family holiday cards at least two weeks before Christmas. Usually I procrastinate until the last minute though. There was one Halloween where we didn’t even have costumes until the 31st, and last year we totally missed sending out cards all together. This year, though, we have a good excuse to be on top of things! It’s Augustine’s first holiday season which makes it especially exciting. The other week we shot some holiday photos and I just got the cards from Shutterfly in the mail today! Can you believe it? I feel like I deserve some mom of the year award because this never happens!

3 Outfits I Wore During the Holidays
When I used to be a buyer, I’d love when I’d find new and emerging brands. I’d buy the items for our store and would be so happy when they’d sell out and we’d reorder. It was especially exciting when these small, independent brands would be picked up my major department stores and soon become household names. To be able to see that progression is really inspiring! Some of the things I’d look out for with these brands would obviously be aesthetic; whether or not the styles would resonate with our customers, as well as quality and price point. You can tell when something is well-made, and when it isn’t, and usually that’s the difference between getting and missing a sale.
Five Holiday Wines Your Dinner Party Needs
If you haven’t realized by now, I am a holiday fanatic. I love everything about this season from the weather to the tinsel on my tree! My favorite part of the season, however, is spending time with my family and friends, especially when it involves food and… WINE! We are definitely the type of family that loves to eat, drink, and be merry! Even though I’ve grown up around great food and wine, I can relate to the pressure that comes with walking down the wine aisles trying to find the perfect bottle for your guests or hostess. No fear my dears, I am here to help! I recently took a visit to one of my favorite downtown Italian restaurants, Terroni, to meet with a wine expert and dear friend about the best holiday wines for our tables.
