I asked Matthew to help me by putting together a holiday gift guide for the guys in your life. It’s also my sneaky little way of seeing what he wants! Two birds, my friends! Here’s what he has to say about his picks:
SWEATERS are always a good go-to. They’re comfortable, warm, and can be worn to work when you don’t feel like ironing that shirt underneath! When your guy did remember to pick up his dry cleaning, he’ll be glad to throw on either of these button ups (X or Y). Button ups are the modern man’s uniform after all. Pair it with a good TIE like this, and you’ll impress the boss AND the Mrs. I love this JOGGER CHINO THING going on these days. Pants haven’t been this comfortable and stylish since 1984 when I was a baby. If it gets really cold and he needs some extra neck protection, give him this SCARF – it will do him good. Cologne and a NICE WATCH are two of the few essentials that can really make a guy feel spiffy, or at least help him be on time and smell a bit better. If your guy is still wearing flashy Lady Gaga sunnies with huge gold G’s on the sides, do him a solid and update his eye protection. When he’s ready for the great outdoors, you’ll want to hook him up with a DURABLE SWEATSHIRT, an excellent PACK/WEEKENDER BAG, a HIGH QUALITY HATCHET for wood chopping, and most importantly a way to safely drink that dirty stream water he found. Lastly, let the poor bloke wear a BEANIE every now and then. Beanies are awesome.
Happy Black Friday everyone! Are you doing some big holiday shopping today? I know I am! Check out this post with all the major holiday sales! I’ve been searching for a beautiful holiday dress that will work not just for November and December, but also for early spring. This Kate Spade fit and flare dress totally does the trick! After browsing Kate Spade’s selection on Nordstrom I kept going back to this dress. The pink and burgundy color combo is so pretty and I think it will be great not only for holiday parties, but also for different events and weddings. Plus, check out the poufy skirt! So fun! I paired it with this black bow belt and some floral pumps. This bow belt adds a girly touch and I’m excited to pair it with other dresses and skirts. It’s an immediate outfit changer!
I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving yesterday! I’m still so full from all the food we ate but it was such a fun day. I loved having my family together and just eating and talking. And playing with Ginger! That girl gets so much love!
Last night Matthew and I were looking at our calendars and realized that Thanksgiving is almost a week away! That snuck up so fast! Or is it just us? I seriously feel like it was just October {but to be honest, summer also seems like it was last week. That may or may not have to do with LA’s delayed fall weather}. Nevertheless, we have some Thanksgiving outfit shopping to do! We’re going to be celebrating the holiday with my parents which is usually pretty casual. I love dressing up so even if I end up with a striped top and full skirt I’ll be good to go! Matthew put together some outfit combos he’s considering and I did the same for myself. Hopefully it will provide you with a little Thanksgiving outfit inspiration!
I’m curious, do you usually dress up for Thanksgiving or do you keep it casual? Or are you like me, trying to find a balance in between? One rule I have is nothing too tight. I need all the extra room for pumpkin pie with whipped cream! And pecan pie..oh and my Mom makes these really yummy herb rolls. Geez, I’m getting hungry already!!
