the pink pants parade

March 27, 2013
I couldn’t be happier that colored denim is still a trend for spring/summer. Colored denim has had quite the long life in trend years. We have to be in the fifth year at least, right? I don’t think colored denim is  going anywhere {knock on wood!}, mainly because of its versatility. You can wear it with anything you’d normally wear blue denim with, and it’s an instant outfit pick-me-up. I loved this pair of salmon-pink jeans with a classic white button up shirt. To build on the playful pink I added a colorful necklace and a pair of subtly bright color-blocked sandals.

Did you notice my cute new gray bag? Let me bring you in on a little secret- it’s actually a camera bag! I am so excited because I finally got a Kelly Moore camera bag! It’s stylish and functional, something my previous camera bag lacked greatly. So much in fact, that I always preferred carrying it on my shoulder, or trying to fit it into a regular purse. I’ve definitely needed this upgrade for awhile, especially since my camera was in dangerous territory with loose keys and change. I love that my camera has a special little place in this bag and I can include personal items as well. Plus the gray will go with everything. eee! So excited!

pinks and reds

March 25, 2013
Pinks and reds are my happy colors! I tend to gravitate towards them a lot, and then end up looking like I’m always dressed for Valentine’s Day. Oh well, I guess it’s not the worst holiday to color coordinate with!

look book: pink and blue

October 8, 2012
Sometimes I’m a little unsure about pairing pinks and blues in the same outfit. I can’t help thinking of little kid colors when I see them together, although I know that’s a little ridiculous. It’s hard not to style with them, though, because I have a lot of pink in my wardrobe, and also a lot of blue. What can I say? I guess it goes back to my childhood. By the way, I’ve lost my tan. Check out my already pasty legs! So sad I couldn’t keep it going for just a little bit longer.

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was a very social one, with dinners out with friends and a couple birthday parties. It was a lot of fun, but I’m leaving the weekend wishing I had just one more day. Also, it finally feels like fall outside so I’d like nothing more than to snuggle inside with a good book! I finished Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver last week {second book in currently unfinished Delirium trilogy} and I’m craving another page turner!
