last minute Thanksgiving recipe ideas M Loves M @marmar

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US readers! No matter where you are, I feel like every day is worth celebrating. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is

“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

This year has been hard in lots of ways, for so many of us, but there is so much power and strength in choosing to be thankful. When I’ve focused on the positives, the negatives seem to find a way to gradually disappear or dampen a bit. I also try to remind myself that in seasons of hardship, there is something beautiful that will come out of it. It may be impossible to see in the moment, but afterward, it’s much more obvious. It’s one of the many reminders of God’s faithful plan for us.

Right now I’m most thankful for health and safety. I’m thankful for a husband who is the best partner in life, for two children that give me the opportunity to learn and see life in new ways, for a roof over our heads, and for each day that I’m blessed with. Today is going to be a sweet and small Thanksgiving celebration but we’re going to make the most of it! I have a homemade pumpkin pie going in the oven, a new stuffing recipe to try, and a big yummy fall salad – one of our favorites!

We’re keeping things small with gift-giving this year – and trying to support our local small businesses who have been hit so so hard this year, but there are a few online sales I’m going to check out.

fashion

Levi’s – 40% off + free shipping with code BLUESTREAK – these jeans! You need them! Also, really loving this jacket.

VeriShop– 25% off fashion and 15% home and beauty with code HOLIDAY – This is a new to me shop but I’ve been so impressed by their well-curated selection. This might be one of those sites where you can take care of everyone on your shopping list- even kids!

Whether you’re looking for a room makeover or a few pieces, this shop is one of our go-to’s. Like how cute is this under $100 table lamp? Perfect little room update! Also, great small items for gifts.

Boll & Branch – 25% off $150+ – I’ve heard they have the softest sheets so maybe time to pick up a new set!

My All-Time Favorite Fall Recipes

October 28, 2020

A super yummy fall recipe

Fall-inspired food is the best food. I really love cooking during this season. Maybe something about the cozier weather? When the temperatures drop it’s my favorite time to be in the kitchen though, and it’s fun to make seasonal favorites. As you might know, we’re currently in San Diego and I’m missing a lot of my kitchen tools and ingredients. Rentals never quite have everything you need! Nevertheless, I’m still committed to making some of the dishes we look forward to most during the fall season. Since it’s almost Halloween {read here for costume inspiration for kids}, these dishes would be perfect to make for home. I hope you all enjoy my favorite fall recipes and hopefully you decide to make one!

July Edit: Picnic Ready

Hey everyone, how have you all been? Recently I have been seeing more and more posts of cute picnic set ups, and now I really want to have one with my family at the park or for a cute date night down by the beach at sunset! You can find cute picnic baskets to pack with snacks, some pretty wine glasses, and a cold bottle of rose – so summery and fun! You can even turn your picnic into a full meal. Pack dinner or some appetizer like snacks to put out, like this perfect summer spinach salad! I’ve also been seeing these yummy looking charcuterie boards that would be perfect to bring, because wine and cheese are never a bad idea, lol!

On warm days I always go for a lightweight dress, and this one here has adorable tie detailing around the waist that is super flattering. It is also midi length so it’s perfect for sitting down on a blanket. A cute printed blouse with small puff sleeves is always a good option too and I love that this one wraps around and ties on the side. For summer accessories, I have my eyes on these cute sunnies with big frames and these neutral slide on sandals. A fun printed purse adds a nice pop to any outfit and I love basically all the straw bags. Don’t forget to pack a picnic blanket to lay on the grass or sand and lay your set up on!
