Feeling French in LA

Would you believe that this might be one of my favorite outfits I’ve worn this past year?! Usually I feel like I’m not the best with layering {I’m not a pro living in SoCal}, but I think I did well on this one. Maybe it’s the combo of the skirt with the over the knee boots- always a good combo, or maybe it’s the gray plaid coat, or maybe, just maybe, it’s the black pearl beret. Either way, I’m totally loving this outfit and will be wearing different versions of it over the next few weeks!

I’m definitely feeling French in LA with this beret. I am one of those people that is always a little unsure when I put a hat on {for some reason they make me feel slightly self-conscious}, but I love this one. A beret is such an iconic hat and while the pearls are classic as well, the addition makes it feel more modern. I just adore it! Also, this star necklace would be such a great gift. It’s one of my favorites right now!

I think I chose a good final outfit post for 2017! I say final because I’m going to be taking a little blog break over the holidays. I took this break last year, after wishing I took it the previous year, and I am so so glad I did. One of the hardest things about what I do is knowing when to shut off. I’m so passionate about this blog and the community we’ve built so sometimes I feel like I could be working 24 hours a day. With Matthew off work, friends in town, and family to visit, I’m going to try to be as present with them as I can. It’s important for them, but I also think I need this time for me, too. I’m going to try to update Instagram every day or so, just to say hi,  but my goal is to really enjoy this “time off” so that I can come back in 2018 feeling refreshed and re-inspired. I hope you all understand! I have some exciting things planned for 2018 and I can’t wait to share them all with you!! Also, I’m always curious about the posts you like or ones you want to see more of! If you leave a comment letting me know below I’ll enter you into today’s special giveaway. I’ve been posting them on Instagram but I’d love to have one of you win! Thank you so much in advance!!

Have a great weekend everyone and Merry Merry Christmas!

P.S. I’m in the process of doing a big closet purge if you’re interested in anything! I’ll be donating a portion of what I sell to St. Jude’s. In the past, I’ve donated to a non-profit benefiting those with Ovarian Cancer, and another for rescue pups. Kids are where my heart is these days so I thought St. Jude’s would be a good one. Check it out if you’re interested. Most of the items are very gently worn.
