sartorially inspired

I remember shopping at J.Crew in high school when everyone I knew was either obsessed with Abercrombie & Fitch or Hot Topic. My mom and I would go to the mall and pick out some pieces to share. She’d buy and I’d borrow! To say I’ve always been incredibly inspired by J.Crew is an understatement. My love for the brand has grown over the years though, mainly due to their perfectly effortless outfits. I notice that it sometimes affects the styling I do for work, and also here on the blog. This outfit in particular felt especially J.Crew-esque. The checkered button up + the long maxi skirt + the ballerina flats + the somewhat styled, yet slightly rolled out of bed, ponytail were maybe a few indicators.

I’m sure you all noticed that there’s a new layout around here! I’ve been wanting something a little more clean and fresh for M Loves M so I had to go to my friend Kelly Ann for some help. She designed my last layout for me which launched in January 2011 so it was about time to switch things up. Every time we work together I am so impressed by how well she knows me and my style. I trusted her completely, and with reason, because look at this amazingness she came up with?! It’s still a little bit of a work in progress on my end but I’d love to know what you guys think!
