I feel like most people look at a new year as unwritten pages, waiting to be filled. There is so much optimism around a fresh start and a new beginning. This year you might want to do X, Y, and Z. {I probably do too!}. In terms of sartorial exploration I anticipate this year won’t differ drastically from the last. I finally feel like I’m in a place where I know my style, what works for me and what doesn’t. I still like being a thrifty and safe shopper, too. I do like to embrace the trends, but in my own way. You won’t see me wearing anything too crazy or out of the ordinary. So no heel-less, sky-high platforms or florescent mumu dresses. Nope, that’s not in the plans for 2013. You’re very welcome!

One thing I’d like to wear more in the new year is pants. As you all know {and can see above}, I’m a dresses and skirts girl through and through. It’s actually very safe for me. I would like to try wearing more pants, though, since it’s a clothing item that I sometimes don’t know how to style properly. I definitely get the jeans and t-shirt thing but trousers and fancy pants? Not so much. I’m going to try to test it out though and see how I can make the outfits look polished and classy and still stay true to my personal style.
Is there a certain clothing item or trend you’re going to try to embrace in the new year? I’d love to hear!
