The other weekend three of my best friends took me out to brunch for a belated bday celebration. We try to get together monthly since we all live in different spots {Hanna and I are in LA, while Pauline is in Huntington Beach/Orange County and Lizzie is in Riverside}. We decided to go to a place we hadn’t been for brunch before, Superba Snack Bar in Venice. I’ve heard about this place quite a bit and thought it would be fun to finally check it out with my girls. We had the first reservation of the day which luckily worked in my favor..I was able to snap some photos of the empty restaurant. The decor was fun and ecletic and the food was delicious.

Lizzie and I shared the Veggies and Eggs and the Crispy French Toast. Don’t you love a bestie that will split with you? The Veggies and Eggs was so delicious with 2 sunny side up eggs on top of a bowl filled with roasted fingerling potatoes, broccolini and caramelized onions. The Crispy French Toast looked burnt according to Matthew but it was absolutely delicious… I promise! Crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth broiche on the inside. My only complaint was that we could have had a few more slices! Pauline also got the Veggies and Eggs and Hanna got the Potato and Rosemary Waffle with ham and a poached egg on top.
Afterwards we walked around Venice a little bit. I love the times we’re able to hang out together. It doesn’t seem that long ago when we saw each other every day during high school, eating our lunches outside of the New Building, studying together, getting ready for football games and gossiping about our latest crush. Sometimes that seems like just yesterday. Wouldn’t it be fun to go back to high school for just one week with everything you’ve learned since then? I’d hang out with the same group but I’m sure I wouldn’t be worrying about the same things. It would be such a funny experience!
Happy Tuesday everyone! It feels like my Monday since I was in Cambria over the weekend. It was so nice to get away for a few days but I totally wish it was longer. Wish me luck today!
