Matthew's "Man Cave" Transformation with Valspar paint, M Loves M
As many of you know Matthew and I have been getting our house together over the past few months. It’s been a work in progress and we can’t wait to share more with you! Matthew has been very adamant about having one room in the house that he can call his own. His “man cave” as he refers to it! While he took the lead on how to decorate, I was able to nudge him into a suitable paint color.  When we first moved in we painted the whole house white to have a fresh start and also contemplate color options. As you guys know I love color and paint is so transformative in a room.  I had a lot of different ideas but didn’t know quite where to start. Remember when I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was partnering with a new boutique? Well that boutique is the new Paint Studio at Ace Hardware. When I think of a hardware store I think of nuts and bolts and power tools that I don’t quite understand. The Paint Studio is more like a boutique-style shopping experience for the color-obsessed. It’s beautifully designed with mood-inspired palettes displayed in pullout drawers. They make it incredibly easy to find the perfect color for your project with paints from Valspar and Clark+Kensington. You can check out their “Helpful is Beautiful” campaign to get a better idea of what it looks like. Here are some photos of our completed paint project, “Project Man Cave!”

With the right colors at our disposal we were drawn to a wide
range of gray hues. I wanted to find a color that would be masculine for
Matthew but also work with the vibe of the rest of the house.  We settled on Valspar Tabby Cat, a bold gray
that wasn’t too dark. It looks amazing with the white crown molding and trim.
Matthew’s wood desk, the industrial bar cart, and the vintage American flag are
totally complemented by the wall color. He is so happy with how his room is
turning out, and it’s all because of the color! I can’t wait to see what else he adds to the room to make it his own.
If you have any paint projects coming up I’d definitely
recommend checking out The Paint
Studio
! You will die for all the perfect colors! I already have a few
others saved in my mind for other house projects, like the front door and the
bedroom! From August 29th-September 1st Ace is also offering $5 off Valspar Optimus and Valspar Aspire paint so it’s a good time to take advantage!
