The holidays are right around the corner and I am so excited! Even though it’s a busy time, I look forward to the holiday parties and dinners. Holiday beauty looks are my favorite. A smoky eye, a Christmas red lip, and some glitter and sparkle is worth looking forward to. This year I’m feeling inspired to do something a little different like trying some unexpected holiday beauty looks.

I went to Sally Beauty to get some new holiday nail polishes, and while at first I was drawn to a bright red, I decided to opt for a nude instead, with this Finger-Paints Natural Talent. Nude nails are feminine and classic and can definitely work year round. To make it more holiday appropriate I added a glitter polish. Metallics are so beautiful this time of year. I loved putting the accent just on one nail so that it wasn’t too over the top. It gives just the right amount of sparkle. This polish, Finger-Paints Go Baroque, is a lovely rose gold metallic with some pink in it.

Another unexpected element was this lip stain. While lipstick is my usual go-to, I love that the lip stain gives the perfect tint of color. It’s also perfect for all the hor d’oeuvre sampling, and who can forget the kisses under the mistletoe. I wore this Palladio lip stain in Orchid and love the purple tint. It’s a great shade to wear throughout fall and winter.

Do you ever rethink some of your go-to beauty looks? It’s nice to try something different!
