Living in Los Angeles, you get used to seeing celebrities all over the city, in casual clothes, with their dogs, shopping at the grocery stores, and sitting across from you at your neighborhood sushi restaurant. You almost become oblivious to it, until you see the paparazzi. I don’t really get star struck anymore, but I remember the other year sitting in a room of about 200 women, absolutely captivated by one celebrity in particular.

And that celebrity was Eva Mendes. She is one of those women that is just truly inspiring and relatable. It doesn’t hurt that she has a pretty dreamy boyfriend too! At this conference Eva talked about her collaboration with New York & Company and how hands on she is with the design process. It was so sweet to hear about her love of fashion and how it started at such an early age. She even did a headwrap tutorial with an audience member’s scarf. I left that room wishing that I could be friends with this woman. She’s so fun and light hearted and really seems like the girl next door!

other favorites from the Eva Mendes Collection:

When New York & Company asked me if I’d like to wear some things from the latest Eva Mendes Collection I was so excited! I feel like Eva just totally understands that girly sensibility! I picked a black bow blouse with lace arm details and a beautiful brocade full skirt. I love an outfit with holiday separates! This is a look, though, that’s not only perfect during the holidays, but afterwards as well. I love that these holiday separates look great together but can also be easily mixed into other outfits. The skirt is made out of a nice thick material and it would even look great for a Valentine’s Day outfit, or a spring party. Here it is in a dress version too! And this black bow blouse would work really well for your 9 to 5, or even a pair of classic denim!

Happy Wednesday everyone! We’re prepping for our yearly holiday party and I’m so excited! Can’t believe Christmas Eve is tomorrow!
