48 hours in miami M Loves M

I know it’s 2016 and we need to be looking forward, but there are a couple of incredible trips from the end of last year that I haven’t shared with you yet! Remember when I went to Miami in November? It was such a short little 2 day trip, but I had so much fun. We ate at some incredible restaurants, and luckily I was able to soak in a little bit of sunshine! Read more about my 48 hours in Miami after the jump!

I’ve been to Miami once before but it was so fun to go back. Both trips have seemed a little too short though! I was so surprised how humid the weather was in November. The sun still set earlier at 5pm, like on the West Coast, but the humidity in the air was really high and lasted all night. Plus, there were rainstorms that would sporadically happen during the day. However, 30 minutes later, Miami’s blue skies would be bright as ever!

48 Hours in Miami

WHERE TO STAY

Hyatt Centric South Beach– I loved staying at the new Hyatt Centric hotel. Each Hyatt Centric is very localized and specialized to their city. When you check in you get recommendations from the people who work at the hotel for the best places to go. And they know the best of the best since they live there! The rooms have huge windows and I was so lucky to see the sunrise each morning {definitely different than our West Coast sunsets!}. The hotel is just across from the beach, and you can even rent bikes to ride around town!

WHERE TO EAT

DECK Sixteen– DECK Sixteen is located at the Hyatt Centric but it’s a really good option! They feature fresh fish caught straight from the Atlantic Ocean and locally inspired, sustainable cuisine with a Spanish-Mediterranean influence. I love the grilled octopus dish I had! Plus their fresh sangrias at the bar will make you really feel like you’re on vacation!

Yardbird Southern Table + Bar – this place was incredible! They made a delicious blackberry bourbon cocktail and I devoured the mac and cheese! Oh and who can forget about those biscuits! They were so satisfying!

Juvia– They have an incredible rooftop with gorgeous views of the city! The food has a French, Japanese and Peruvian vibe. I loved all the fresh fish, plus they had some good grilled options.

Mmmm– we walked by this place and it looked so cute with the palm print! I wish we had been hungry enough to go in. Of course I had to look at the menu online later and oh my gosh this is totally on my list the next time I’m there. Their tartines look so delicious!

WHERE TO DRINK

The Broken Shaker– This bar is seriously one of a kind! I’m so glad we went here. It’s a James Beard Award semi-finalist bar that offers specialty handcrafted cocktails made with elixirs, syrups, and infusions made from garden herbs and spices, and exotic ingredients from around the world. The drinks are so unique and interesting, but most importantly really tasty! Take a look at their menu.

WHERE TO GET YOUR COFFEE FIX

Panther Coffee– perfect to cool down on a hot day, or get some java before checking out the Wynwood Walls. They have a few locations in Miami.

WHAT TO DO

Art Deco tour- there’s so much history to see!

Wynwood Walls– so much great street art in one place!

Have you ever been to Miami? I’d love to hear recommendations from any of you! Hopefully next time I’ll be able to stay a little bit longer!
