Now that we’re in the midst of the spring season, I’m making some changes to my beauty routine. Spring is the perfect time to go a little more natural and fresh-faced. The challenge is how do you make fresh-faced work? {I’m not sure about you but I have redness and acne scarring that can not see the light of day.} Don’t worry I’ll show you show how! Today I’m sharing my tricks for how to create a Springtime Beauty Look that you can take from day to night! I’ve learned that even for a natural-looking face, you need makeup!
A Springtime Beauty Look
STEP 1// To create a natural beauty look, you need a good base. I used the Burt’s Bees® BB Cream and applied it with the EcoTools® Skin Perfecting Brush. First of all, this BB cream is such a good one! It gives you instant, lightweight coverage so that redness will be gone. It also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which is always a plus. I love how the product feels on my skin, not drying or heavy at all. In fact, I feel like it gives my skin a subtle glow! Plus, it has SPF15 which is a must for spring!
STEP 2// This Skin Perfection Brush was designed to be used specifically with BB or CC creams. Because of its straight and dense bristles, it’s great for applying the BB cream smoothly and evenly. The rounded edge is great for more precise coverage, like around the eyes and nose.
STEP 3// After I’ve created my base, I fill in my eyebrows. Someone once called filling your eyebrows in as an instant face lift, and I can kind of agree. It definitely perks things up a bit!
STEP 4// Then I curl my lashes, apply a neutral eye shadow with the EcoTools® Eye Shadow Brush {from the day to night set}, and fan on a few coats of mascara.
STEP 5// I always apply a little bit of bronzer because I like a glowy look, plus I live in California and a little tan just seems mandatory! I use an Angled Face Brush, also from the EcoTools® 6 Piece Day-to-Night Set} to give a soft and subtle contour. You don’t want to overdo it!
STEP 6// Next, I dust some powder on the areas of my face that tend to get a little oilier- my T-zone! I use the new EcoTools® Blending & Bronzing Brush which helps blend my makeup for a more flawless look.
STEP 7// I usually can’t leave the house without a few swipes of lipstick. It just helps me feel so much more put-together. Burt’s Bees® just came out with an amazing line that you will love if you’re a fan of their balms! The shades are full coverage with a pretty satin finish. My favorite thing about them, though, is that they hydrate and moisturize my lips for up to 8 hours. There’s nothing worse than applying lipstick that makes your lips look dry and cakey within a few hours. The lipsticks have a natural formula with Beeswax, Moringa Oil, and Raspberry Seed Oil, and of course, like all Burt’s Bees® products, they’re free of parabens and petrolatum, and they’re never tested on animals.
Lately I’ve been using a Detailed Lip Liner Brush {comes in the EcoTools® 6 Piece Day-to-Night Set}, because I feel like it helps line my lips more easily. Then I’ll fill in with the color. I used the Burt’s Bees® lipstick in Blush Basin.
There you have it for my day look!
To switch things up subtly for nighttime, I just do two things. First, I add a cat-eye to my already existing eye look. I feel like this gives a flirty look for after dark. Then, I switch up the lipstick to something a little more bold. These two changes are so easy but they make a huge difference! I used the Burt’s Bees® lipstick in Scarlet Soaked.
If you’re interested in trying out this look, definitely go grab the Burt’s Bees® BB Creams and lipsticks. You can get them in the Natural Beauty section of Walmart stores! For the brushes, EcoTools® has been my favorite for awhile now. They’re a great price and hold up really well over time. The brushes are incredibly soft and I love the sleek bamboo handles. I clean my brushes every couple of weeks to maintain them, and I’ve still never dealt with loose or coarse bristles. Like Burt’s Bees®, they have an eco-conscious angle since they use recycled and repurposed ingredients, and 100% tree-free paper for their packaging! The brushes are in the Cosmetic Accessories section at Walmart.
