Last month I had a fun little weekend getaway to the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad. I’ve heard about it over the years from family members in San Diego so it was great to finally check it out. Matthew was out of town on a work trip, and it seemed like a good opportunity to escape for some much needed R&R. Here are some photos from my weekend at Omni La Costa:

The property at La Costa is absolutely gorgeous! I love the Spanish Mission-style architecture and the flowers and palm trees everywhere is so California.

I knew I wanted to check out the spa {it was the first-ever resort spa in the U.S.!} so I scheduled a massage and a facial. I asked them about the best ones and the Citrus & Kale Facial and the Citrus Raindrop Massage both got high praise. The facial uses vitamins C&E, as well as antioxidants to help protect skin against free radicals and boost collagen powder. The goal was firmer, brighter and younger looking skin. Um, I’ll take it!

The massage was incredibly relaxing. It uses citrus raindrop therapy to relieve tension. The massage was also geared at soothing nerves so I left feeling extremely relaxed.

I seriously want to come back for a birthday weekend with my girlfriends so we can just lounge by the pool. The courtyard has the most gorgeous flowers everywhere and the Spa restaurant has a delicious menu! I ordered this Kale and Avocado salad twice it was so good. Which reminds me, I need to try recreating it at home!

On my last day, there was a fun little morning yoga class. There’s something so special about doing yoga outdoors, especially first thing in the morning. It’s my favorite! At the end there was a really cool DIY filtered water bar where we got to add tea, fruit, herbs, and spices to our water. My combination tasted amazing! I used camomile tea, mint, strawberries and oranges. So refreshing! You have to try it!

DIY filtered water bar! Such a fun idea for a spa party!

I loved having a few days to enjoy being by myself. I took advantage of going to bed early, sleeping in, eating banana pancakes, and lounging by the pool. There’s nothing better! Next time though, I think a girls trip needs to happen! And that fact that it’s only a few hours from LA makes for the perfect weekend getaway!
